Peaceful Annexe

We enjoyed everything about The Annexe in old Acomb, with its own parking also very near the village and bus routes into York City. Peaceful, very clean, everything one could need and good quality. A jug of milk, butter, beverages, etc, all available. I found the bedroom in the eaves so relaxing. Ange is a super host.

excellent, welcoming, spacious, cosy, friendly . I highly recommend this place

This was the second time we stayed. It was cosy and warm and very clean on arrival. Just what you want for a short two day stay. We met the owner very briefly on arrival who was very friendly and gave us some helpful tips for where to eat etc. I was impressed when we stayed last time and equally impressed on this second visit.

Brilliant location, I used it for work my wife met me on final evening to have some food in York and loved it as much as me. I would recommend it to anyone great access to city centre

A very enjoyable stay and I would happily return

Friendly helpful owners who were unobtrusive but available for any queries . Easy parking within the gated grounds and a short walk away from bus stop for the city centre. Excellent location for exploring York and easy access to other routes as on outskirts. Also short distance from local Morrisons supermarket. We could not have chosen a better location

We did not dislike anything but if I had taken several dresses hanging them would have been a problem as there are only a few hooks at this height due to the sloping ceilings at the sides of the bedroom, There was a long low rail however for other clothes beneath the sloping ceiling

A lovely, comfortable get away which we would definitely book again!

The Annexe is really accessible from the train station. We decided to walk the 40 mins our first day to get a feel for the area and discovered Holgate Windmill on the way which we wouldn't have seen otherwise, along with local shops and a few pubs. The bus stop is just around the corner and the bus doesn't take long at all. The guides, directions and take out menus provided were very helpful. The shower is pretty powerful and the bed very and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery etc, and all towels and bedding provided. Rich was a lovely host, welcoming us on arrival and even offered us a later check out which we were very grateful for.

Something special

It was like a little oasis, a home from home. We could have been anywhere. It was peaceful, well kitted out for flexible meal choices, whether we wanted to cook up a storm or have a takeaway and felt safe. The decor is pleasant and the information was very detailed. We thought the croissants, butter and jam were a lovely touch.

It would have been nice to have the fire working to give the full Christmas feel and the duvet was a bit too thick making it very warm in the night, but at least there was a fan!
