Thornton

We had a very enjoyable stay at Thorntons. The property was clean, comfortable, well appointed and very well equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It was also tastefully decorated and nicely presented throughout, which gave it a welcoming and homely feel. The location was excellent too – very convenient for Chipping Campden itself and a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Overall, it was a very pleasant place to stay and somewhere we were happy to return to at the end of each day.

Only a few relatively minor niggles. The fridge had no shelf, which meant we had to lay a bottle of milk on its side and unfortunately it leaked. The toilet cistern took an exceptionally long time to refill after flushing, which was a little frustrating. The internet connection was also quite slow, making it difficult at times to stream or watch TV reliably. None of these significantly spoiled our stay, but they are small things that would be worth addressing.

Keys were easily accessible

Finding the correct door and figuring out where the room was not clear in instructions. Thankfully we ran into the owner and he explained.

Finding a parking spot

The Location of Thornton is on the corner of Sheep St and High St...sometimes a busy corner for traffic but not too noisy. Restaurants - Michaels Mediteranean and La Luigi Italian, just a 5 minute stroll along the High St together with Huxley's cafe bistro and Bantam Tea Rooms , all of which were excellent. Great location. The accommodation was very clean, tastefully decorated and had everything we might have needed. Very comfortable bed. Thornton has a tv and the lounge and in the bedroom. It is a ground floor apartment so access is easy. The instructions from Will (our host) were perfect and easy to follow. We hqd a great time at Thornton and would not hesitate to book again.

Parking was okay as we arrived early in the morning but the spaces fill quickly. We left our car parked in the same location throughout our two day visit but suspect that, had we driven out to visit other towns and villages for the day, we may not have been able to park upon our return.
