Location is absolutely fantastic--the perfect place to stay for a week in Madrid! We were walking distance to everything: Plaza Mayor and Mercado San Miguel are just around the corner, Palacio Royal is a few blocks away, and we also walked to Retiro Park, Barrio de la letras, the Latin Quarter, and the main train station. We were there for Palm Sunday, and watched the processions from our room. There are cute cafes and bars all around.
The bed in the apartment was comfortable and the room was dark. I loved having a bathtub. Everything was clean. Check-in was easy.
The apartment itself was pretty spare: (1) There is very little storage in the apartment. In the bathroom, there are two tiny low tables to set stuff on, and that's it--the sink doesn't even have a ledge. My minimalist husband didn't mind, but as a woman who travels with makeup, it was inconvenient. (2) When we checked in, there was 1.5 small rolls of toilet paper for two people for 7 nights. When I asked, I was told if we wanted more, we had to go find and buy it ourselves. (3) The living room was tiny and down a long, narrow corridor. We basically never went down there, which made this feel more like a hotel room with a small table than an apartment.

Location, balconies, space and light
To help visitors, the flat needs a simple folder of instructions on how to use the hob, adjust the temperature controls and operate the light switches. It should say where to take rubbish. We worked these things out with help from staff, but it would have been simpler and easier just to have a few written instructions.

The location was good. The air conditioning worked well, and the room design was practical. The apartment had a fully equipped kitchen and a washing machine, and everything necessary was available.
The apartment looked nice, but our experience was very disappointing.
When we arrived, the pull-out sofa bed was not prepared. We opened it ourselves and unfortunately found the dirty sheets from the previous guest, full of hair and very unpleasant. We had no choice but to use items we found in the room to prepare the bed for our son to sleep there.
We immediately reported this issue, but at check-out the situation was forgotten and it was assumed that the bed had been properly prepared for us. They even thought that the pillows had been provided by them, when in fact they were already there when we arrived. This made us feel as if we were being dishonest. Only after we showed our video and photo evidence (which we luckily had recorded when we first entered the apartment) were we able to receive our deposit back.
A simple apology was given, blaming the cleaning team, but the whole process caused us psychological distress. Throughout the stay, it felt like we constantly had to prove ourselves right with evidence. Every guest should feel comfortable and respected — not forced to defend themselves as if they were at fault. Guests should not be in a situation where they must take a video when entering just to protect their deposit.
The apartment itself could be nice, but the way this was handled left us very upset. Future guests: be careful, record everything when you enter, because we do not want anyone else to go through the same experience.
Also, please note that in the evenings there was noise coming from outside, which made it less comfortable to rest.
