Aspasios Calle Mayor Apartments

Nothing

Location Location Location! Apartment was excellent!

Showers have a slow drain.

location is great. cafe and eateries near by, plasant neighbourhood.

can be a bit noisy at night, but very common for city center apartments.

The apartment is located in Calle Mayor, close to Plaza Mayor, Sol, shopping area, metro lines, everything. Getting there from the airport is super-easy. Check-in is very easy, customer service replies immediately via whatsapp, there is a concierge in the lobby for most of the day. Although the flat could be renovated, there is nothing to complain about. The bathroom is spacious, kitchen with all appliances, and the windows overlook calle mayor. Our flat was located on the first floor so expect some noise.

With the money you get, you can buy a new sofa bed. The sofa bed creaked constantly with every movement. The mattress is extemely uncomfortable: it is higher at the edges and lower in the middle, so you constantly feel like you are rolling towards the center. I agree with all the other reviews complaining about the sofa bed. On the contrary, the bed in the bedroom is comfortable but far from being a double bed. It is smaller than a french double bed, it should be 140cm not more. So again, sleeping two there can be very uncomfortable too. Last but not least soundproofing in the apartment—specifically the first-floor unit we stayed in—is completely non-existent. You can easily tell when the neighbor goes to the bathroom, flushes the toilet, speaks, or even breathes. Every time the toilet is used, it sounds like a waterfall pouring right into your apartment. If neighbors check out early in the morning, you hear every movement of every object—suitcases, belongings, and so on. Unfortunately, customer service cannot fix this issue. The apartment is very comfortable, centrally located, and close to many amenities; however, I believe being able to sleep—and sleep in comfortable beds—is also important and for the relevant price paid, yet during our three-day stay, we were woken up multiple times every night. I therefore do agree with all the reviews complaining about soundproofing.
