Just like being at home

Where to start! I can assure you will have a wonderful time when you stay here. You are treated like family and it feels like home. The room was brilliant and the outside space to relax is beautiful. I highly recommend the morning boat tour with Luka and dinner/breakfast which is out of this world. I couldn’t recommend enough

Wonderful stay, hospitable hosts.

Great location, the hosts were fantastic. We had a home cooked dinner and breakfast that were delicious. The owners also have a boat and we went on an early tour of the lake. They gave us great suggestions of a beautiful walk to a panoramic overlook, plans for a scenic driving trip the next day and things not to miss on our journey to our next location.

Perfect for our stay on Lake Skadar.

The apartment was very clean and spacious. Comfortable bed and pillows, great hot water etc. But our most favourite part was the Hospitality shown to us by our Hosts Sneza and Vesko! They were absolutely fabulous! Greeting us with grappa, coffee and homemade Montenegrin doughnuts! Make sure you have dinner prepared by Sneza…it was one of the most delicious meals we’ve had in Montenegro! Also make sure you go on an early morning boat trip on the lake with their son Luka - he was a fantastic captain, with so much knowledge to share. The boat trip was such a calming and relaxing start to our day. We cannot Thank Sneza, Vesko and Luka enough for their kindness and generosity. We would definitely stay here again! Hvala!

This apartment is a good value.

The couple who own the unit are wonderful. The property has a great location. We opted to pay for a fish dinner prepared by the owner that was very good and quite reasonable.

The bed was not too comfortable and the unit smelled a little musty.

Great stay (and dinner) in the heart of Skadar lake

The location and the kindness of the owner. They offer a huge and delicious dinner (15€/person) that is totally worth It. The lake is amazing.

Perfectly located and well equipped apartment.

Sadly we only stayed one night. Apartment was clean and comfortable with a pretty little garden. The owner was super friendly and gave us tips for our drive back to kotor where we could take in the best views. Definitely book your boat trip with them, we went at 6am and it was stunning.

I think it would be better to have just one comfortable double bed accessible from both sides. I understand the extra bed may have been added to make the apartment suitable for families.

Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Virpazar

We had a truly wonderful stay at JOCKER. What made our experience so special were the hosts — they were incredibly welcoming. They make us feel at home, offering great recommendations and organizing activities. We highly recommend to take breakfast and dinner. All was delicious — fresh, local, and served with care. The dinner was especially memorable — we had fantastic fish from the lake, perfectly cooked. We also went on a boat trip with Luka, which was absolutely wonderful — totally worth the early wake-up! It was peaceful and we saw lots of beautiful birds, including baby birds nesting among the reeds, which made the experience even more magical. We would love to return and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Virpazar!

Excellent

The apartment was perfect. Had everything we needed for a short stay. The hosts were exceptional. They made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to look after us. The dinner and breakfast were both delicious and plentiful. We also enjoyed the boat tour organised by the family. Overall we had a great time and highly recommend anyone looking to book Jocker.

Extremely gracious hosts

It's a studio apartment which is comfortable for a family of 3. The hosts are extremely gracious. They took care of everything that was needed for us on the day of arrival. They provided us with welcome drinks, afternoon tea and a very elaborate dinner. I must say dinner was extremely delicious. They did not charge us for our daughter's meal. Location is next to the lake, so you have a lake view from outside the apartment but not from inside the apartment. Free parking was provided. Also they arranged a Skader lake boat ride for us which we took for an hour but I'd recommend to take it for longer so you can see much better lake views. We enjoyed our stay at this apartment and it was the highlight of our trip.

A caring family who excell at hosting

Our stay at Jocker started with a wonderful welcome. Vesko helped us park in our space, helped with our bags and then he and Sneza provided us with a traditional homemade welcome drink of rakija. It felt like we were visiting friends. This feeling continued during our stay with this very friendly family who helped us with suggestions about local sights and when we requested, provided us with amazing home cooked meals that were delicious, generous and well priced. And homemade wine also! The icing on the cake was that the meals were delivered to our room so we could eat in our lounging clothes and then leave the dirty dishes outside the door to magically be taken away and cleaned. Heaven! I hired the son, Luka to take me out on the lake to look for birds. Unfortunately, though the lake was lovely, the birds were present, and Luka was an excellent guide, the weather wasn’t the best. Maybe next time! It was an interesting juxtaposition. We were right outside their home, but we always had all the privacy we wanted while at the same time feeling like we were with friends. They took very good care of us!

Enchanting nook surrounded by nature, with the best hosts you could ever ask for.

This beautiful, private nook with a view to the mountains is positioned just a few feet away from the center of town. The apartment has everything you need. A spacious bedroom that opens up to a dining area with a big window facing the garden -- which actually served as a great work space for me -- and to the bathroom and kitchen. A very spacious space that allows you to spread out and feel like you are in your own space. Apart from being able to have a great experience in the apartment itself, Vesko and Sneza made my stay all that much more enjoyable. Their welcoming hospitability -- warmth, kindness and generosity -- made this place feel more like home to me than any other that I've stayed in during my travels. They took care of everything, and went above and beyond to make sure I saw and did everything I wanted. They even did me the favor of driving me to a magical viewpoint, and the bank when it would have been really hard for me to get there on my own without a car. Beautiful people in an enchanting space surrounded by nature. Wish I could have stayed longer. I'll definitely be back. Next time with my family! Thank you so much Vesko and Sneza!! A perfect place to experience a traditional Montenegrin tradition, with hosts that made our stay an amazing experience .

We truly loved everything, the apartment very clean and comfortable, the host and family were so welcoming and helpful. She always responded quickly to my messages and gave us great information to explore the area. We loved the tradition dinner and breakfast that she made for us. We also loved the peacefulness and views on the boat ride her son took us on early morning. Best way to see the lake. We were the only boat on the water other than a few local fishermen. We loved the little village of Virpazar and really loved the welcome and connection we made with the host and her family. If you are considering to book, please do. This is a truly beautiful Montenegrin experience ❤️

Great stay with exceptionally kind hosts

The hosts are exceptionally kind. They live next door and provided us with some tips, nice talks, hospitality... The apartment provides everything you need: cooking equipment, a big fridge, TV, large bed (mattress is a bit hard), and even rolling shutters on the big window to make the room mainly dark. They offer breakfast and dinner for a very fair price. Dinner was one of the best meals we had in Montenegro, and breakfast was great too. Their son offers a private boat tour, which we booked for 2 hours early in the morning at 6am. The tour was beautiful and peaceful. Looking back, 1 hour may have sufficed. There is a private parking spot next to the house, located in a narrow alley.

The apartment had a bit of a smell due to the damp environment. The air conditioning unit had some mold in it which didn't smell great either.

Amazing apartment

Clean and comfy apartment, close to the city center. Would definitely recommend the private boat tour at sunrise (6am). It was super calm, beautiful views and not busy yet. The hosts are amazing! They speak English very well and they give you everything you need and more. The breakfast for only 5€ was delicious and with such a nice view. And they even gave us a ride to the train station <3

Incredible location, fantastic meals, clean tidy and welcoming!

Clean, tidy, welcoming. An ideal place to stay to explore the popular nearby lake and mountains for a few days. Or do as we did, stay for the whole week and use it as a base to explore further afield. It really is a great location with half a dozen restaurants and bars locally, that is if you can pull yourself away from the fantastic home cooking of the host, and the amazing view from their lakeside table. The evening meals, and breakfasts are incredible here and well worth booking! Oh and the early morning boat trip on the lake (skippered by the host’s son), is unmissable! And if I haven’t said enough, ask the host for recommendations of places to visit… a treasure trove of ideas!

Amazing stay in Skadar

Everything. Vesko and Sneza are wonderful host. Their welcome was the warmest we had in Montenegro. They offered fruits, and homemade juices and wine. Sneza prepared excellent dinner (with fishes fished by their son) and breakfast. The boat tour in the morning with their son Luka was amazing : could watch the sunrise on the Skadar lake.

A wonderful & unique experience in Virpazar! Absolutely recommend!

We had an amazing time visiting Virpazar and Lake Skadar thanks to the folks at Jocker! Vezko, Sneza and their family are some of the warmest people you'll meet. They welcomed us with homemade juice and wine, recommended us nice places to visit in the area, and even helped us with an issue we had with our car. We got to enjoy Sneza's delicious cooking (with their son Luka's fresh caught carp) on their patio overlooking the lake, and see the sunrise and pelicans over Lake Skadar with Luka taking us on his boat. Absolutely recommend staying here if visiting Virpazar!!

It was a beautiful experience staying at Jockers. Vesko and Sneza are the sweetest people you can imagine. They did everything for our stay to be perfect. The apartment was beautiful and the terrace from which you could look at Lake Skadar even more so. They also sell their homemade wine and grappa and other things which are very tasty. Sadly we only had breakfast once, as it was one of the best we had in Montenegro. We surely plan to come back!

Beautiful views

This was my favourite stay during my travels in Montenegro. The hosts are so kind and caring and went out of their way to give me a wonderful experience at Skadar Lake. The view of the lake is beautiful and I was able to have an early morning, peaceful boat ride with their son Luka. They also lent me a bike to cycle around the area and visit the winery. I *highly* recommend staying here. Thank you so much for an amazing last day in Montenegro! 🤩💓 Visit here and stay at Jocker!

Great location, close to centre but away from crowds. Fabulous view of the lake. Generous and caring hosts who wanted us to have the best experience on our trip. Meals were exceptionally good value, beautifully served in the little garden overlooking the view of the lake. Our hosts organised a wonderful private boat trip early in the morning which was the best time to see all the wildlife. Luca, their son was so knowledgeable about the environment and the wildlife on the lake. Our hosts went out of their way to help us when our car broke down and were very kind and caring.
