Hospitality Blooms Here

The Mosaic House is a gem of accommodation, nestled in a private garden, hosted by a warm and vibrant family. We were enthusiastically greeted when we arrived and led through the garden, learning about the mosaic and our host’s history there. As we moved beyond the entry garden, we were met with blooms and plants of every type, seated in that lush place, and given a special treat by our hosts as we sat and talked for a bit, using multiple languages. We were shown to our room, which perches above the garden. Everything was spotlessly clean, new, and very comfortable. We made a trip to the nearby Benja pools and then, after returning, walked down to the town to have dinner. The town itself was lively, energized, with lots of people walking, kids playing. It was easy to traverse, felt very safe, and dining options were plentiful. We easily walked back to the Mosaic House thereafter. In the morning, our hosts made us the most fantastic breakfast on their gorgeous, blooming garden terrace. It could not have been more picturesque, delicious or special! We enjoyed talking with the whole family, including their daughter who was home from college. What a lovely time!

There was nothing not to love! The one tricky moment we had was due to a car parked out into the street leading to the Mosaic House that was blocking our way. We knock and asked the neighbor to repark so we could get by. As usual… it’s Albania and streets are ancient and narrow.

The little B&B was great. Easy to find, 3 min away from the center, easy to park next to. The courtyard was beautiful, and breakfast served in the morning was awesome (cooked for 6 people just for the 2 of us)! Room was comfortable with a great AC. Definitly would recommend. Hosts were super helpful, recommended the best meal and restaurant we had in Albania!

A superb traditional and welcoming stay in Permeti

This is a beautiful family-run property in the very pleasant town of Permet. The room and facilities are excellent - modern, effective bathroom and plumbing in a very traditional house. The bed linen and towels are of a very high quality with traditional decorative details added which add a lovely touch. The breakfast was excellent with fresh and high quality produce - eggs, tomatoes, cheese, local fruit, bananas, coffee and superb local tea. Our hosts could not have been better -friendly, attentive and welcoming. The external seating area, where we had breakfast, is beautiful, with vines, fruit trees and flowers in abundance.

Wonderful one night stay at a wonderful family. Totally recommend

Located right on top of the old town of Permet, great location. Wonderful hosts, made our one night stay very warming and felt like we were visiting family. Professor Genti and his mother Ms. Donika were really nice to us, welcomed us with some traditional Permet dessert (gliko) and also the breakfast next morning was amazing. Room was exceptionally tidy and clean. My father said to me to send his regards (since he isn't very up to date with the internet haha) and he really loved the hospitality.

Hidden Oasis

A beautiful, quiet hidden oasis after a busy day of activities. The hosts were very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful. Easy walking distance into the centre down quaint cobbled streets. Scrumptious breakfast out in the terrace under the vines and surrounded by flowers.

One of the best stays!

We had a wonderful time at the Mosaic House. Absolutely clean and amazing hosts! Breakfast was very rich with only organic products cooked and served with so much love by the hosts. Lovely place to stay

We highly recommend this bed & breakfast. It has a beautiful setting in the best part of town, convenient to restaurants and city center. Gent and Albana are the best hosts possible. They made us feel at home, made delicious breakfast and guided us for what we needed. Grandma is keeping the garden beautifully. The room was cozy and comfortable.

Perfect place not only to spend a day, but to touch the tradition and culture of south of Albania!

Whoever is looking for a peaceful place with a traditional atmosphere and warm, kindhearted people, this is the perfect spot. Everything was clean, and the family welcomed us so warmly, as if we were old friends. They were very supportive for any questions we had and recommendations we needed. We had a truly wonderful time. We were lucky to come in May, because the flowers in the yard were in full bloom and absolutely beautiful. I would come back here a hundred times over. The breakfast is a masterpiece!

Great breakfast in the beautiful garden, all very fresh. Parking at the house. Daughter (who usually lives in Tirana but was visiting for the weekend) spoke good English. They loaned us towels to use while swimming. Initial greeting with walnut glyko.

Husband speaks Italian and wife speaks French, but limited English.

HIDDEN GEM OF SOUTHERN ALBANIA

10 is not enough to rate this stay. I'm a solo traveler but I felt welcome like it was my own family! The hosts are friendly and communication was not a problem. They know three languages (English, Italian, French)! They even welcomed me the traditional way of the city, with raki & gliko made by grandma's hands! The private terrace is wonderful, you can have quiet relaxing moments there by yourself. Perfect place to read or to have a drink! The hosts were so nice, they even offered me a homemade glass of wine. They were open for conversations (recommendations I needed) and they do their absolute best to provide a nice a comfortable stay for me. The breakfast is very delicious and the food is BIO from the local villages (Best cow milk I've tasted). I highly recommend and I can't wait to return! I wish Donika & her lovely family all the best and I can't thank them enough.

This is heaven hosted by angels on earth!

At the Mosaic House the family went beyond our expectations. They gave us very useful tips, supported us with suggestions about what to see while we are in Albania, and made our stay very comfortable. We had breakfast as if we were in heaven. We really felt sad leaving this place and hope to be back soon!

We only stayed for one night, but would have loved to stay longer. Such an amazing and kind family who is offering the apartment. Breakfast is fresh and homemade- very tasty. This was one of the best stays on our 2-week trip in Albania and if we visit Albania again, we will definetely go to Mosaic House again.

The welcome of the family epitomizes the definition of hospitality. Room is tastefully decorated and has good beds. Excellent air con. Bathroom is functional. The breakfast is made with love, and it tastes delicious.. Parking is possible in front of the door. There is a terrace to enjoy doing nothing... Great base to visit the thermal springs and the canyon or to go rafting on the river.

Fantastic traditional stone guesthouse. Wonderful stay.

Hidden away up the hill in Permet but what a nice place. Lovely owners of a traditional stone cottage / house a short walk from town. Nice garden to relax. Clean and nice room. Great breakfast. Everything homemade including the raki. We loved it!

If there are more that 2 guests with vehilces then parking will be an issue. As it was our car was blocking the other guests car and we were kind of obstructing the corner where we parked. It worked ok because the other guests didnt want to move their car. But if more than 2 cars then its a problem. This is small comment and does not detreact from a wonderful place. But it is a fact.

a lovely old house run by a friendly family who made us feel very welcome

This was our second visit - we liked it so much we wanted to come again! The house is in the old part of Permet. It's very quiet but only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. The family made us feel very welcome. Donika made lovely breakfasts with home-made jam which we ate in the courtyard. Highly recommended.

The stay to this house was beyond what we expected. The house has a great location in an old neighborhood surrounded by beautiful nature and some old attractions to see, but yet is not even 5 minutes far from the city center. The hosts of the house are so welcoming and polite. When we arrived there they welcomed us with the best homemade nut jam and raki. Besides the fact that they made us feel like we were staying in our home, they also helped a lot with suggestions and bookings of the activities like rafting, horse riding, hiking, thermals and restorants you could go in Permet. It was so relaxing to wake up every morning in a typical traditional room with mountain view and go out to the garden to enjoy the best breakfast we have ever had in Albania all homemade by the granny and mom of the house. Everything was so clean and the room had all facilities you would need. The communication with them was easy. The lady spoke fluent French, the gentleman knew Italian and their son English, so it was not a problem at all to find our understanding.

Perfect, Quiet and Beautiful family guesthouse

Perfect location in a quiet part of Permet that is walking distance from the town. The host family were kind, generous and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and like family. Breakfast was in the courtyard surrounded by the garden and overhanging grapes, and was delicious with homemade jams, fresh milk, bread and fruit, with Albanian treats. A true farm to table experience. Room was exactly as advertised with a lovely garden view and striking mountain range. It was a perfect stay and introduction to Albania for us and would highly recommend. We absolutely loved staying at Mosaic House.
