Traffic noise spoiled sleep!

Clean, well equipped, and comfortable for a short stay.

However, due to the traffic noise which was constant and pretty much all through the night too, with odd lapses, I didn't sleep. After a very long journey this was not what we needed. We spent one night only, and found alternative accommodation. Light sleepers will struggle here! Otherwise a comfy, clean place.

Flat and location great just needed jobs fixing.

Easy. But main door was very loose on the frame and it was easy to just push the door open sometimes.

Door frame to flat also was very loose and is was difficult to lock the door. A small shove could have easily opened the door so we didn’t feel comfortable leaving valuables. The kitchen tap dripped and then flowed and couldn’t be turned off. The noise of it into the sink was annoying when trying to watch tv. The lead to the router was broken so the internet kept dropping out. Finally there was a leak through the lounge ceiling from a flats upstairs. We had to use the towels to try and save the flooring. We had to wake up the neighbours to tell them there was a leak. We couldn’t get hold of anyone until later in the day. We were supposed to be staying until Monday but decided to leave on Sunday. When I finally did get through to someone they just asked if we needed more towels. We left a note with the things that needed fixing, also no working fan in the bathroom and broken toilet seat.

Fantastic apartment but poor sound proofed windows and the noise from outside seemed almost constant

The property itself was perfect. Immaculately clean - really well furnished! Really comfortable. Honestly if you could move the property then it would have been the most perfect place to stay…

The location is on a busy street! The noise was so disturbing I didn’t have one night of uninterrupted sleep!!!

Outstanding

Lovely apartment in a great location, everything we needed. Easy to park with the Rover pass around the back of the apartment. Very neat, clean, tidy and comfortable. Highly recommend a visit to the Viva Italian restaurant a few doors down.

It was a little cold at night, the heaters aren't really sufficient for the main room. It's a large room, high ceilings and a small electric heater. We are going to bring a hot water bottle each next year.

Very clean, good facilities, very convenient central location.

Very busy road outside. Could hear the traffic noise in the bedrooms, although the road did get a lot quieter at night.

Location very good for easy access to town but because of this quite noisy especially in evening from local bars and restaurants. Apartment well heated.

Poor holiday

Close to the centre, clean, modern and good equipped.

Apartment was very cold, noisy, boiler couldn't handle 3 people showering and got left with cold water, it's like the windows aren't even there, locked the door with the key from the inside and we couldn't open it anymore so we got stuck in the apartment and we had to get neighbours to get us out, emergency number provided by the host didn't even work, uncomfortable mattresses.

Lovely apartment central matlock, noisy location, access to private car park questionable

The actual apartment is really lovely, very clean, well furnished, good quality bedding and towels, warm and comfortable. Access via the keysafe was really easy. The location in central matlock was great.

-Parking: the main reason we booked this property was it advertised parking. We could not find the private car park (this was written in several reviews so we expected it not to be easy). The one private car park we did find had ANP cameras and the parking permit left by the hosts was 6 months out of date. We ended up paying on the council car park nearby (we finally found a rover car parking ticket online for 3 days). This added unexpected stress and expense to our visit. Noise: There is a bar opposite the apartment which was VERY loud until gone 1.30am/2.00am both friday and saturday. This is stated in most reviews but we were not expecting that level of noise (music and people arguing on street both nights). We appreciate this is no fault of the property but it did affect our stay. - Contact with hosts: we messaged about parking on the webpage chat link sent us before going, we got no response. -the hosts warned us there was a knack to opening and shutting the front door, this could be mended to make it easier for guests as we did struggle initially to close the door (until we figured out the knack!)

Very central with good links to local transport. Very homely feel and comfortable. The support we recieved was excellent.

The location of the Cotton Rooms is on a busy main road with large trucks driving down it, which is quite noisy during the night and impacted our sleep. There is also a tapas bar opposite which also acts as a club so it was noisy on friday and saturday evenings with people coming and going, talking loudly on the street and hearing the music. It would have been helpful to have a fabric/towel bath mat, a corkscrew, salt, and a toilet brush.

A good choice, great location.

Good location in Matlock, handy for bars and food. Supermarkets close by. Free parking, which was in an odd place, but I had no problems. The apartment was spotless, the beds were comfy, plenty of hot water from the shower. A really good choice, and at a very fair price. Two separate bedrooms, one double, one single bed.

The extract fan in the shower/toilet didn't seem to work, and it could get quite funky in there. The entrance door was a challenge when we arrived, the owner warned us there was a knack to it, and we soon got used to it but maybe it should be fixed. couple of things you would expect to find, like bottle opener/corkscrew, and toilet brush were not there, also, there were no instructions for any of the machines or the heating. worst thing was the noise from the bar across the road which kept us awake till 1:30. I am sure this wouldn't be a problem during the week, but we went Friday and Saturday, and it was crazy.

Totally relaxing stay in enchanting Matlock

Location, high quality furnishings with homely touches. The apartment had everything we needed, and more, for a wonderfully relaxing, luxurious break.

Bathroom could have done with an extractor fan and the sensor light in the hall took some heating used to but these were absolutely MINOR complared to how much we loved the place.

The only fault I found was beyond your control. A fight started in the pub across the road and spilled out into the road.I appreciate you have no control over this, everything else was brilliant,

A brilliant place to stay to explore the Derbyshire dales

Comfortable, spacious apartment, perfect for three people. Decor was modern and stylish.

Although it was self-catering I had expected basics like salt & pepper. This is what is usually provided in properties like this and would be really helpful. The noise from the bar opposite was loud on the Saturday night but finished at a reasonable hour Otherwise the property was excellent.

1)Location - Central Matlock which is great. You are close to everything. 2) Arrival arrangements - great. The keys were in the key box as described. No issues to enter the property. Parking permit on kitchen table, all good there. 3) Cleanliness - excellent. 4) comfort - excellent. Pillows are like you sleeping on a cloud. Perfection. Beds nice n comfy. Wi-Fi excellent, you have everything you need in the kitchen. There is no salt or sugar, this is just FYI, did not bother us one bit.

The only concern which is not property ot host related is the noice from the bars downstairs, more specifically few drunk teenagers. However this is only important if you are light sleeper. We had one year old with us, did not bothered him or us at all.

The noise from the traffic as single glazed windows, quite a busy Rd so traffic starts around 6am. The main entrance key lock is a fiddle to use so frustrating to use when you arrive in the rain. There is a parking permit but we never managed to find a space and paid for parking No complimentary tea or coffee WiFi is poor
