A haven of comfort at 244 Matlock

A truly wonderful stay at 244 in Matlock. The property felt like a haven from the moment I arrived – calm, welcoming and exactly what I needed. Everything was beautifully clean, comfortable and thoughtfully prepared, with every detail clearly labelled so settling in felt effortless. The host has clearly thought of everything. Towels were ready, even for the dogs, dog bowls and poo bags were provided, and the space was organised in a way that made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. The property matched its description perfectly and felt scrupulously clean throughout. The location was ideal for exploring Winsley and Darley Dale, with a bus stop just down the road and convenient parking available on the nearby side street. All in all, an excellent stay and a place I would happily return to.

There was very little to fault at 244. The stairs are quite steep, which is typical for a property of this type. They were perfectly usable with a good bannisters and did not detract from the stay in any way, though it may be helpful for guests with limited mobility to be aware in advance. Overall, everything about the property was exactly as I could have wished.

Great Christmas Stay

Immaculately clean. Decor, bedding, etc, all seemed fairly new and fresh. A little further out than my previous Matlock stays but still an easy walk (though the weather being kind helped). Great communication from the owner and early check in appreciated. The Christmas tree and decorations were a nice touch.

Parking directly outside would have been more convenient but that can't be changed and I knew that when booking. A small thing but with no wardrobe in the back room, a hook for hanging a dressing gown or the likes would be useful.

A lovely clean comfy place to stay.

We visited Matlock to attend a wedding and this house was only 8 minutes away from the venue. Three adults and a baby. The house is lovely and clean . The beds were very comfortable and everything you need is supplied. Even the added bits of tea coffee sugar milk and biscuits. We only had a two night stay so did an uber eats delivery for anything we needed from the coop which only took half an hour to deliver. Catherine was lovely and left clear instructions in a folder with added information on takeaways and attractions. There was a great little garden with seating but we didn’t have time to use it. We would definitely recommend this house.

The only thing we didn’t like was the steep stairs but they have a strong banister and you just need to take your time when going up or coming down.

That nice, we've booked again!

Catherine was very attentive, even arranged to collect our luggage from the station for us, answered all our questions, was on stand by the entire time we stayed, made the stay that little bit more special, such a great host,, the home was lovely, spotless, a home from home, all the furniture, cooking utensils anyone could want and more, extra bedding, loads of towels and toilet rolls, great location, extremely quiet, we was spoiled. We've booked again it was that good!

The stairs were a little steep, but it's a 1940 property, so what do you expect, im being extremely picky now to find something wrong, it was that good.

Home from home for a couple of njghts

Lovely and clean. Chose location as needed to get to Derby by public transport. Bus stop right outside. Beds really comfortable. Home had everything you could need. A lovely 2 night stay thank you.

Amazing Space for family break

The property was just outside Matlock, so not too busy. Near to some great walking routes and gorgeous scenery. The property had everything you need for a great stay in the peaks. We travelled by train and it was easy to get to from the station. The place was spotlessly clean and there were some lovely treats and tea making facilities when we arrived. We got all the information we needed about the place before our stay and the check-in/out times were really convenient. Such a great place to stay, that we're already booked in for Dec.

An amazingly comfortable property.

Everything about 244 was wonderful. It is by far the best property my sisters and I have stayed in over the many years we have had an annual holiday together. The beds were so comfortable that my sister took photos of the labels so she could buy the same bedding, including the pillows. The cleanliness of the property was evident as soon as we walked through the door. A great place to stay and on a bus route as well.

The property is a fantastic location, in a quiet area with a short walk to the nearest town. We were also opposite the starting point to a fantastic walk to explore the area with some amazing views.

Superb

Excellent location. Not met the host in person but the communication was superb and everything was taken care of with clear instructions to follow and a welcome folder pack awaiting us with lots of info on local tourist attractions etc. Very clean and comfortable house, complete with free Wi-Fi, TV and a selection of board games for adults and kids. If we're ever in this area again we'll be sure to come back. Thank you, Catherine!

Amazing home and amazing host. Will definitely be staying again

Such a beautiful little home in Matlock. We stayed as a family for 3 with my 5 year old daughter. Plenty of free parking in nearby streets and a bus stop straight outside the doorstep took us into Matlock Bath. Very close to Chatsworth house and Bakewell for exploring. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The decor was beautiful and the house very clean. The host was so friendly and responsive to messages. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Matlock, Bakewell and that area.

We were self catering. House very clean and well fitted out in kitchen. Parking was available quite close by which was good. Main bedroom was very spacious and comfortable. Second bedroom was fine for our son.

Staircase was very steep so was a bit difficult for me but once upstairs all was fine. Otherwise all fine.
