The history of the place is so interesting.

Although under construction outside, beautiful inside. Well decorated in lush period decor throughout from the soft carpeting, furniture, to the designer wallpaper and interesting art. The bed was very comfortable, the room beautifully well-appointed. The hosts thoughtfully provide toiletries if needed.
The hosts were warm, conversational and accommodating, asking questions about rooming and dietary needs. The breakfast fine china was elegantly situated along a counter and fully appointed with fruits, scones, grains, dairy, condiments, hot breads and freshly whipped cream. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of it. The just-out—of-the-oven quiche and berry galette were award-winning and just made!
The hosts thoughtfully provided 5 routes to find the property and slightly hidden entrance so we were on alert and didn’t have a problem. I think some balloons, a sign or such at the entrance - reflective for night - would make it easy to find the driveway.

The morning meals were amazing, along with the conversations with the hosts. The location and easy access to local attractions, along with the separation from the nearby larger town made it a worthwhile stop. The interior of the building was well restored with original materials preserved where possible. The ongoing renovation work was clearly understood and did not attract from the stay. It added to the conversation.
Will definitely return if circumstances allow.
Accommodations for shoes on the porch would be nice.

Breakfast was phenomenal, Terry made wonderful, delicious offerings every morning.
The “ under construction “ state of the grounds and premises was not inviting in the least. Place needs a deep cleaning, although linens were good.
