Couldn’t always access upstairs lounge areas

I loved my stay here! The hotel, and the town of Narbonne, are just lovely. The hotel is located across the street from the train station, with a nice 5 - 10 minute stroll to, and through, the historical center, with the canal and a range of restaurants, cafés and local shops. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel with a small bus (Navette) free of charge that runs all day in a circular route around town. No touristy 'hop on, hop off' here, but a communal service that was much appreciated. There is also a bus there (no 8) that goes to the beach some 20 minutes away (note that buses may not run on Sundays, at least not in low season and holidays). The hostess was very friendly and helpful (English works well if French is not an option) and the breakfast room is stunning, with a lounge area open in the morning. The coffee, eggs, cheeses and bread/pastries were very tasty and it all feels personal and welcoming. The single room was quite small but cozy and comfy, with a small desk, a chair and a good sized shower area, located half a flight of stairs between the patio area and the terrace with sun loungers upstairs. A/C was quiet and worked well (not too hot though in April), as did the WiFi. It feels private, quiet and calm. Cat lovers will appreciate the charming and playful resident feline, who roams the premises and can be spotted lounging in the sun on the patio.

Nothing really. Just make sure to read the email with the check-in instructions, especially for late arrivals. I arrived in the evening and couldn’t retrieve my key because I hadn’t received the text with the reservation number. The hostess quickly helped me, so it wasn’t an issue—but checking the instructions more thoroughly in advance, and jotting down the hotel mobile number, would have avoided the confusion. Overall, the check-in and check-out process is simple and works well.

Comfortable room

I was disappointed not to enjoy the lovely lounge space that had originally convinced me to book this hotel. This lovely area is only available when the owners are there.
