Hôtel L'Alsace Gare-Sncf

We liked the comfortable bed and large room. The room was on the Main Street directly across from the train station but very quiet. The hotel is simple but has new furniture and decorated nicely.

The warm welcome of the owner and his staff, particularly the very friendly and helpful cleaning lady, the room decoration and space, the access to a safe in the room, the comfort of the beds and the air-conditioning. The location was also great for us, being opposite the railway station and within easy walking distance of the local buses. Walking to the centre of Narbonne is also possible with ease.

The bath/shower is rather dangerous for elder guests as there are no safety handles. The stairway is stiff but we always got some help with our luggage from the host. I would have liked an extra chair as having only one meant that one of us had to seat on the bed; Not unusual in France, there are no tea/coffee facilities.

My room was quite large and was well appointed. The location was perfect for a girl who overpacks and then shops more. I could just roll my bags 20 m to the hotel. Town is a 10-15 minute walk. What really makes this place special is the staff. They are so kind and helpful. Merci!
