Full of character and charm

We had a lovely stay! The host couldn't have been more accommodating and was so proud to show us around his home. There were so many relics of the past and the place really had character! We didn't stay for the breakfast but it looked to be in a wonderful setting. The host didn't really speak English but we managed to communicate all the important points with my limited French

The bed was quite small if you're on the taller side and the room doesn't have a lock. Not something that bothered us particularly but for those of you that are more conscious of safety. There is a big gate on the outside so no one can get in but they don't give you a key so you lose a bit of independence there - mind you, they say you can call at any time and we arrived quite late, though I understand not everyone wants to do that!

Extremely thankful to be able to find this Gem here. So many antiques that u don't get to see nowadays. Full of stories of familia and the past of french. I was able to write a review in the owner book on Table and chair from the Napoleonic Era. Age 200+☺️ I am so extremely happy. though we don't speak well but owner was very accommodating and extremely friendly(*thanks to translator) ,I love this place. Thank you for making us feel so welcome! ❤️

A unique property, a wonderful host

We loved Phillips traditional French styling - His home was absolutely beautiful and steeped in history. The landscaping was also spectacular, every inch there was a special touch, the interior and exterior of the home are a work of love. Breakfast was a lesson to us in the way to enjoy a traditional French breakfast.

S'il existe encore de vraies chambres d'hôtes, celle-ci y correspond parfaitement ! C'est la première fois que je vais louer chez l'habitant et quelle surprise en rencontrant mon hôte aux petits soins pour moi ! Pas très loin du centre-ville pour commencer une belle journée à pied, je suis même tombé amoureux de cette ville et surtout de son quartier médiéval ! Pour résumer, je conseille à toute personne voulant vivre une incroyable expérience en "vraie" chambre d'hôte, à y séjourner dès que vous passerez à Clermont-Ferrand !

Très bon séjour d'une nuit, pas de regrets d'avoir pris ce logement au dernier moment

Petit déjeuner copieux, lit confortable, emplacement adapté à nos besoins, mais le top était l'accueuil et le service. Il nous aurait fallu plus de temps pour entendre l'histoire complète de la maison qui a traversé les époques.

Le seul reproche était l'odeur de tabac dans le couloir alors que personne ne fumait (est ce que cela venait de l'étage?). C'est dommage pour des non fumeurs, mais si ça ne vous dérange pas...

Meget anderledes stil. Det var charmerende med gamle møbler. Meget gennemført. Værten var meget venlig og fortalte om stedet og om familien, der havde boet i huset i flere generationer. Rent og pænt linned og en behagelig seng.

At der var bad og toilet på gangen, fælles. Det var usandsynlig varmt i værelset, ingen aircondition så vi måtte hente en mølle i bilen der kunne give lidt luft.

Hôtes sympathiques et accueillants. Petit déjeuner copieux, délicieux et varié. Décor incroyable qui nous entraîne dans le grand siècle. Jardin fleuri et bien taillé.

Nous avons apprécié les draps en coton ancien mais nous aurions aimé qu’ils bordent plus.une nuit confortable dans un décor raffiné du 18eme siècle.

Das ganze Haus ist liebevoll betreut, einem Museum gleich. Wer einmal in einem Museum schlafen möchte ist hier genau richtig. Das Frühstück war sehr gut.

Die sanitären Anlagen müssten überholt werden. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein und vollgestellt mit alten oder alt aussehenden Sachen, so dass es nur den Boden als Ablagemöglichkeit gibt. Die Matrazen sind hart. Einen Schlüssel für die Unterkunft hat nur der Besitzer. Man muss telefonieren, wenn man rein oder raus will. Man fühlt sich ständig beobachtet. Der Besitzer sitzt in einer Ecke und passt auf was die Gäste tun. Allgemein fühlt man sich sehr unfrei und nicht willkommen in dieser Unterkunft. Aus diesem Grund sind wir vorzeitig abgefahren.
