A super short break in a lovely house situated in a very pretty town.

Perfect for exploring Cassel and beyond

The gite was in a perfect location, just steps away from Cassel Centre. The gite slept 6, we were only 2, so we had lots of room. It was very comfortable, including the beds. There was plenty of on street parking.

I would mention that the stairs were a little difficult with arthritic knees, but we have had worse!

Lovely gite in the heart of a lovely little town.

This little house, a converted estaminet, was perfect for us. We were 2 adults and 2 teenage children and it felt like there was plenty of space even with only one shared space. The house was well furnished, modern and clean, styled how we would like, really charming. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the welcome gift of local products was lovely, as was the coffee that was left for us. The beds were very comfortable, shower very good and we spent a nice time based here. The owners were very friendly and easy to communicate with. The location is fantastic, just off the main square, overlooking the church and memorial. Even though so close to the centre, it was quite quiet and not disturbed at all, whilst still having everything just off the doorstep. Although a popular little town, there was plenty of free parking available in the street/parking area just outside the house whenever we needed it. The town square was filled with lots of bars and restaurants, and there's a lovely bakery ABDress just around the corner from the house for getting bread or breakfast pastries. The town felt very safe for the teens to go out on their own to explore. We would really like to return as it was so relaxing.

The property is in an ideal location within a minutes walk of the village shops and restaurants. There is parking outside of the property or across the road. The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Jean-Louis is a wonderful host, he was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the gifts of beer, cider and biscuits Jean Louis.

Great location. It was within a short walk of the Grand Place with shops, cafés and restaurants. The house is in a quiet road with free parking nearby. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We were greeted by our hosts who were very friendly and helpful.

A Brilliant Few Days in French Flanders

The house is immaculate and we received a very friendly welcome from the owner Jean -Louis who ran through the workings of the house with us. The welcome gift of local produce was a nice touch and well received and tasty. The bedrooms are furnished delightfully and the beds are very comfortable. Everything you need for your stay is available including wifi. Location wise it couldnt be bettered as the house is next door to the impressive Notre Dame de la Crypte Eglise which is definitely worth a visit. All the restaurants, bars and shops on the Grand Place are seconds away. Cassel itself is a lovely village that has an abundance of great restaurants and bars and I would recommend to visit as many as possible. I can highly recommend the Estaminet Kasteelhof. The Musee de Flandre was another bonus with paintings dating back to the 16th century, the colour and detail of these painting that are over 500 years old is breathtaking. There is also a Rubens on display as well as a fine collection of other Flemish painters work. We will definitely return in the near future

Fantastic experience in the center of Cassel

The host cared a lot about our experience, made sure he could welcome us properly, asked what he could improve and so on. The location is ideal, the house is well decorated, good beds and linen. One of the best house rental ever. Free parking was always available though I am guessing summer could be more of a challenge. Being right in the center of Cassel was absolutely great though.

None; really… maybe the boiler could benefit from an upgrade but that’s about it!

We liked that we were in the centre and could walk to the restaurant where we had a party as well as all amenities. Also, the size of the house was great and we were able to be together as 2 couples and the kids had their own bedroom. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, they waited for us on arrival and came to meet us on departure and they are clearly knowledgeable and in love with Cassel.

One bathroom meant we had to organise ourselves to ensure we were on time but it worked perfectly fine

Très bel emplacement au cœur de Cassel, pouvoir faire les courses à pied dans les commerces locaux, c'est top. Gîte propre et fonctionnel, lave vaisselle, frigo congélateur, machine à café... Cassel est une très belle ville à découvrir, nombreux commerces et restaurants.

Seul point négatif pour nous, la toilette se trouve dans l'unique salle de bain pour 6 personnes. Il faut donc s'adapter et s'organiser.

Jean-Louis communiceert heel vlot en proactief zodat we tijdig binnen konden in de accomodatie. Hij heeft ons nadien nog even opgezocht om te vragen of alles ok was in het huisje. Alles was er voldoende aanwezig. Heel leuke woning met een goeie vibe !

Heerlijk comfortabel verblijf op een prachtige plek in Frankrijk.

Wat hebben we genoten! De accomodatie is van alle gemakken voorzien, zeer schoon, comfortabel en heel prettig gelegen in het hart van Kassel met alle winkels en restaurants op loopafstand. Het contact met de eigenaren Jean Louis en Nathalie was heel hartelijk en betrokken. Ze gaven allerlei tips over de omgeving en dachten met ons mee. Er is veel te zien en te doen in de omgeving. Wij hebben hier 6 dagen doorgebracht en het was iedere dag weer fijn thuiskomen. Aanrader zijn de lokale estaminets in Kassel en in de omgeving van Kassel waar je heerlijke lokale gerechten kunt eten.

Geweldige host die ons de eerste avond kwam verwelkomen. Huis is centraal gelegen in het mooie Cassel. Veel restaurants in de buurt. Huis is heel comfortabel, goede bedden, prima badkamer. Goede uitvalsbasis voor Frans Vlaanderen en de westhoek. We zouden dit zeker aanbevelen.

Nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement par Jean-Louis, le propriétaire du gîte et nous avons eu une corbeille de bienvenue avec des dépliants de la région et 3 produits locaux à déguster. Une très charmante attention. 😊 Le gîte est très spacieux, confortable et très propre. Nous avons aussi apprécié sa connaissance et sa passion pour Cassel.
