Camping Le Clairmarais

We stayed for the August bank holiday weekend (from UK) it was so calm and quiet. The caravan owners who were opposite us were lovely and friendly and helped me with the correct address for Uber Eats. It was incredibly relaxing 🤩 for a family of four (with teens who aren't interested in any kids clubs etc). The caravan we stayed in was lovely and clean, however we were surprised by only hob for cooking (no oven) or a kettle. I didn't pay attention to this pre arrival and bought pizzas in nearby Aldi which I then couldn't cook 😜. That said, two lovely restaurants in walking distance (off site) and numerous restaurants in local town, including a fabulous Indian restaurant opposite the train station (call and book ahead - excellent English spoken). My favourite thing about this site is the chilled people in it, entrance locks at 11pm until 7am so no cars are driving through, and there were no drunk people staggering around or causing a nuisance 🏆. The entire camp was silent by 10pm and with only French TV and no WiFi, it meant really good family time with our teens! Overhead lights go out at 11pm/midnight and then you can sit and look at the stars 😍. Felt like I was back home in Ireland between the church bell ringing out every hour and everything closing for Sunday and Bank Holidays - having been in London so long it was a shock to the system because we are used to everything open 247 😂! Will definitely be back to stay here again - I'd definitely recommend it for families wanting a calmer version of the big caravan parks or solo travellers wanting some peace and quiet away. Gorgeous scenery locally for walking and cycling!

Not having the oven did cause us to spend more on food but that was my own fault for not checking the facilities or bringing a BBQ (which I saw plenty others using). Not sure if your can rent one there or not, we weren't there long enough to ask.

La piscine : des cailloux au fond de l'eau, blessure aux pieds !!! Propreté dans le sable des jeux pour enfants !

La terrasse était toute sale ...j'ai du laver en arrivant .Le camping et vendu comme un camping ou l'on peut pêcher et en faite non car le lieu prévu à cet effet et un petit endroit rempli de barque et petit bateau donc impossible de ce poser correctement quel dommage ... Le snack et une petite friterie en réalité heureusement il ya une superbe brasserie a 5 minute à pied .
