A comfortable, well-equipped and furnished cottage in the heart of Castleton

Very comfortable, well-furnished and equipped, spacious. Very well located in the centre of Castleton. Only downside is the slightly idiosyncratic hot water system - and to some extent the heating too, although if you know how to work a Hive controller, probably no problem. The water takes a long time to run hot, then after a few minutes it goes cold again, then hot, then cold. There’s probably a technique, be good to know it. Suggest the info-folder is updated with heating & hot water instructions. However, we had a great stay and I would recommend the property.

The only comment is about the upside down layout, due to our arthritis, but that’s only a small issue for us and for others wouldn’t be an issue

Location was perfect for access to everything. Welcome basket was a lovely touch. Cottage very well equipped.

Lovely location but with reservations.

Location and spacious interior. Well equipped kitchen. The welcome pack is a nice touch. Off road parking.

The cottage room temperature was 14deg, and all radiators cold taking the edge off our arrival.

A beautiful and comfortable cottage! A very good welcome pack with a delicious loaf of bread, milk, eggs and biscuits. In an excellent location! And private parking too.

That there was no heating instructions given and the portable thermostat was placed on top of the tall bookcase out of sight. I had to phone the owner to ask, how do I turn the heating on. The thermostat should have been placed where we could see it.

A loaf of local bread, milk and 6 eggs on arrival most welcome. Excellent location in a lovely village. Inevitable crowds in such a popular village.

Lighting rather poor makes it difficult to read in the evenings.
