Thistle Suites Royal Garden Apartments

The location is amazing. The availability of little restaurants for breakfast, around the hotel, walking distance to shops/mall, little grocery or convinience stores nearby, walkable to tourists sights, etc.

Too many little steps going up or down...

We had a great stay at Thistle Suites and found it to be excellent value for money. The location is fantastic, very central and within easy walking distance of many of Edinburgh’s main attractions, shops and restaurants. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, and I particularly liked the security system with online keys and a unique access code for each group. The apartment was clean, well equipped and thoughtfully stocked with tea, coffee and other essentials. A nice touch was the downstairs cupboard where guests could help themselves to extra towels, toilet rolls and other necessities if needed. Overall, we’d happily stay here again and would recommend it, especially for its location, convenience and good value.

The only downside was the travel cot. It was provided without a mattress, making it too uncomfortable for our baby to sleep in. As a result, my husband, our 15 kg toddler and I ended up sharing the small double bed while our baby slept with my parents on our first night. Including a proper mattress with the travel cot would make a big difference for families traveling with young children.

Old furniture and small room,the bed sheets wasn’t clean for one room

The location, very near to the train station, was ideal.

Stayed for three nights. The pricing for the third was triple that of the first. Definitely felt shortchanged. The passages to the room were claustrophobic and the bars on the doors made it seem like a prison. The bedroom carpet could have been cleaner. The sitting room was decorated very sparsely.
