Dalton's Deed

We loved the quirky, retro style of the very old cottage, which has excellent beds, a good stove and oven and large fridge/freezer, a retro but very efficient shower and a washing machine and dryer. The property is very handy to local trails and shopping. The couch and chair in the main lounge room were very comfortable. The decor and furniture are very sympathetic to the age of the house and add a very pleasant feel.

The cottage is lacking in some cooking utensils. Being an old building it has a chronic lack of kitchen bench space which made food preparation and serving challenging. The floor of the old shower cubicle is below he level of the bathroom floor by about 20cm, which could be difficult for some people to comfortably negotiate. The single heat pump aircon unit was able to warm the main lounge room and one bedroom, but would be inadequate for heating the second bedroom and the single bathroom. The bathroom was very cold in the autumn conditions we experienced. Parking for the cottage is on the footpath at the front of the building.

What a gorgeous little cottage, full of character and a lovely back garden, right in the heart of Roxburgh. Yolanda has created a very special place that is such a refreshing change from cookie cutter motels. We loved it!

it was a stone cottage with a long history so although it was authentic it would only be good for a short stay.
