Located in Downtown Gilbert

I rented Casa De Gilbert to throw a baby shower for my sister and had out of town guests stay through the weekend. The location was perfect for a small gathering of friends and family. Everyone loved the decor and layout of the house, but the proximity to downtown Gilbert was the real hit! Thank you Kevin and Valerie for everything. It was a very special weekend for my sister and family!

Beautiful spacious home made for gatherings. Big yard with many spaces for all kinds of activities. Comfortable beds in each bedroom. If you're looking for a fun location for friends or family, close to restaurants, walking paths and shopping...this is the place. Or just stay and enjoy the large yard with pool and spacious lawn area and multiple seating areas for fun in the sun or shade. And did I mention it smells wonderful in this house. We loved it. to restaurants, walking paths ashopping

We really wanted to love the house - it´s beautifully decorated, good size, very clean & the owner was very helpful & quick with issues that came up (washer not working etc) The location & a couple of other things really led us to consider to move - which wasn't really an option due to the season and everything being rented out. Here's what bothered us: You are literally on the FOUR lane main street through Gilbert - the amount of traffic passing by until/from the early hours in the morning, especially on the weekends is really creating massive noise - on top you have a traffic light and a train crossing with trains running by & blasting the horn from very early morning hours till after midnight. To sit outside & relax by the pool really wasn't really possible, same goes for a good night sleep. On several occasions, we had intoxicated people carry out drunk fights in the big parking lot next to the house coming from one of the bars down the road. As nice as the proximity is, it does have it´s downsides as well. On top, a nighttime construction site side started right outside. Sleep was impossible. As you are right on the main street, you also have very little privacy - all front windows give full view, especially with lights on, to pretty much the entire house. The 3 completely see-through gates don't help much either. Basically, if you´re at the pool or in the house, anyone on the street - walking or backed up by traffic - can have eye contact with you, to say it bluntly. The shades in the windows only work during the day, at night with lights on, the mirrored glass and shades are pretty much useless. On the other side of the huge backyard you have a big part covered by the owners Ring camera, the other part is in clear view (that goes for the bedrooms, too) of the neighbors second story apartment & balcony which were being renovated while we were there. Frankly, we're no prudes, but a little privacy would have been nice. We had asked for the pool heated to be able to use it, but after 2 weeks we gave up - the non-covered cold nights made it impossible. The pool would reach an ok temperature only by 4.30pm, that's when the sun goes down, so too late to use the pool. All beds are queen size - for 2 adults this wasn't very comfortable. I guess it´s ok for a few days, but we stayed for 4 weeks. These issues really impacted our vacation - had we known about the location & noise, we wouldn't have rented the house.
