If you are looking to get away from crowded/ popular areas, this will be perfect for you.

At first, we were shocked about the location as it is really a scooter only lane. But as the hotel is located right in the middle of the rice field, it was incredible and magical to see thousands of fireflies at night right in front of your eyes.

I like them all actually. Nothing to complain about.

The location is very good near the rice field, however the way to get the hotel can only passed by a motorbike. It is unfortunate as family by car will face difficulty to get to the hotel.

Overall a good stay!!

The location was unique! We loved going through the art market first and then the rice fields to reach the hotel, it was isolated and beautifully located at the edge of the path! The breakfast was tasty and it offered different options! What stood out was the staff! They were very accommodating, extremely kind and helpful with everything we needed!

We did see some old stains on the linen, the towels, the curtains etc, but we realized that you can only expect so much from the laundry services on the island. Everything was washed of course. The room could also be cleaner, nothing a good vacuum couldn't solve. But again, I'm not sure there are vacuums there. We also noticed that the normal was one towel per person. Overall, a bit more attention to detail on the cleanliness front could go a long way!

Great hotel - better than 2*!

Staff were very friendly, the location is perfect in the rice fields, balconies are nice and private. The room was well furnished with fridge & smart tv. Beautiful views out onto nature

Great stay

As some other comments mentioned, yes the road is narrow and may be dangerous provided that you are a beginner. If you have experience with motorbike, there will be no problem, even with 2 people and large bag on one bike. Overall the stay was good, clean, nice workers, nice view and mostly… calm, very calm, the hostel is at the end of the road.

Can’t complain so far, just be careful when it’s raining, the hostel’s tiles can be very slippery

Peaceful, feast for the eyes.

The lift on the back of the bike from the main street on arrival was fun! The villa is beautifully located in the middle of the ricefields , quiet, peaceful, blissful away from noisy, busy Ubud centre. Yet only 20 minute pleasant walk to the hubbub. Nice eating places in the ricefields. Cooked breakfast was generous. Room immaculate, staff very helpful, very friendly & responsive.

Just one thing, some fruit for breakfast would be nice.

Excellent value for money in secluded rice fields

We loved it so much we extended our stay for a full week. Incredible value for money. Amazing location really set back from the busyness of Ubud in beautiful rice fields. The room was huge with a fantastic balcony and a fridge and kettle. The breakfast was also great and the staff very friendly. Just be prepared that no cars can access this hotel so you'll either need to organise pick up with the hotel or rent a scooter from Shanti Scooter rentals at the bottom of the hill (they were excellent)

Marvellous staying at Juwuk Manis

Juwuk Manis exceeded my expectations! It is located amongst rice fields so the view you get from it it’s simply stunning 🤩 the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Pool is great too!

A hidden gem to be earned.

Everything. The place is a gem of authenticity right outside the bustling streets of Ubud. Sleeping cuddled by the croaking of frogs and singing of crickets while enjoying the peace of the secluded location. An experience to be had.

Pretty nice location in the middle of the rice fields and clean rooms,friendly staff.

Not that we didn’t like it but be aware of the rice fields and farmers working their machines in the early morning, also it’s a bit out of the main attractions and you can’t drive to the hotel, only way in and out either by walking which is pretty far imo especially if you walk all day long and already tired. We rented a motorbike that was a no Issue for us but if you don’t have experience riding a motorbike then you shouldn’t rent one because it can get pretty dangerous.

Location is perfect. It's right on the rice fields. Very quiet, far from main street noise. But because it's remote, you need to walk a lot to the main street. Ehich was fine by me

If you don't mind mosquitos and mildew, you'll be fine here

The hotel is surrounded by rice paddies, which is quite beautiful.

The room was not sealed to the outdoors, and it's in the middle of a rice paddy, so it was absolutely infested with mosquitos. Worst I've ever seen. On top of that, there was no mosquito net for the bed. You will absolutely get bit multiple times sleeping in that room at night. On top of that, the room smelled musty and the bathroom smelled even stranger. Finally, the transport the hotel provided (a kid on a motorbike) drove in a way that was legit scary. First time I've been scared being on a motorbike in this country. Suffice it to stay, I stayed in the room for half-an-hour, then packed up my bags and walked out the door to find another place to stay. I didn't even ask for a refund... I just had to get out of there.

Splendid view, comfortable for rest, with scooter and without paying attention to details.

The location is great, in the middle of nowhere right in the rice fields with a 360 degree view of the rice fields, quiet. The bedroom (number 1, upstairs) is beautiful, with a balcony and the bed is very comfortable. The shower room is large. Leaving the room we have a magical view of the rice fields. The swimming pool is very pretty and well exposed. Not having a scooter, the staff kindly dropped me off and picked me up twice in the city center (7 ')

Be very careful that Geab or Gojek has the right address. (Check on the map) because I really had to turn 10 times before finding the hotel. It seems that the modification was not made on google map. The hotel is not accessible by car, only by scooter or on foot. If you are on foot, count a good 20’ walk from the city center. The hotel does not serve food other than breakfast. But you will find some warung (local restaurant) not too far. As read in various comments, I confirm that this hotel could be 100x better maintained: windows of the breakfast restaurant really dirty while the view could be magnificent, toilet that moves, lamp that does not work in the shower room, shower head which does not hold, wooden door of the shower room which squeaks,… (but the room is really clean!!) At certain times I said to myself that I was in a ghost hotel. The staff are very nice but don't speak English well so don't rely on them to have too much discussion.

Good property, bad location

The staff was great, helpful, smiling. The property is beautiful and the rooms are great aswell.

The location is quite dangerous physically because the road to Juwuk Manis is a thin brick lane in between the rice fields, cars can not enter at least 500 m near and with a bike, you can’t carry your luggage or ride till the hotel alone if you are not a pro rider. Staff carries the luggage with bikes but i found it unsafe. Breakfast was very very poor.

Truly remote and gorgeous setting

Started with having to send our suitcases off with 2 staff on scooters because it's about 1km from Central Parking Ubud through the rice fields. These guys are amazing! We rocked up with 2 huuuuge and ultra heavy suitcases, but it didn't phase them in the least! They just popped them onto the back of their bikes, held onto them with one hand and rode off like it was no big deal, then they came back to get us 😜🤣 Whilst we knew the hotel was in the rice fields, we didn't realise just how deep in it was located. To the point that if you don't ride a scooter, you need to depend on the staff to take you in and out into town. It's walkable, however it's a hell of a walk in the heat. There is a daily clean included, however sometimes you might need to prompt the staff to do them, or refill coffees, empty bins, etc. The surroundings are stunning, however the views from the hotel are interrupted by windows that are not clean or grids that take away from what could be AWESOME scenery - especially when you're sat in the dining area. Staff are very friendly and try to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The rooms are lovely and very clean and comfortable. Overall the hotel is beautiful but is in need of some maintenance - scarily, we had a huge external tile just miss our heads as it blew off the very top of the building into the pool. The pool is smaller than it looks in the photos but nice enough for an afternoon cool down.

WiFi says its a 10 on Booking.com, which is really important to us during our stays. However it didn't connect well in our room or even in the dining area and kept dipping in and out quite regularly each day.

my phone wasn’t working so I wasn’t aware that the hotel staff could come and pick you up or pick up luggage. it’s quite far into the rice fields so i managed to wreck my suitcase wheels trying to pull it along on a 20-30 min walk !!

Very quiet, the location in the rice fields and the staff was very nice.

Would stay again

Loves my stay at Juwuk Manis because of the amazing location among rice paddies and the views of Mount Agung from my room. Breakfast was always nice and varied. The staff was nice. The WiFi worked well.

Nothing too important. The swimming pool needed some cleaning and one of the sunshades needed some mending.

lovely stay

the property was brilliant for the price- the rooms where large and there was a terrace area with a pond, the staff were lovely and kind. the breakfast was exceptional- and they would change things to your preference- I would definitely stay again.

the property is about a 10 minute walk through the rice fields- so isn’t accessible via car, only scooter. Was difficult to transfer our luggage- but other than that it was brilliant- and there are some nice restaurants dotted around the rice fields- safe at night
