Amazing, will definitely stay again if I come back

Location was perfect, supermarket few meters away, the piazza also less than a minute away, everything is on your door step!

There was 3 of us staying for two nights but we only had enough coffee pods for one morning

Central location with easy walk to all local amenities

Central location. Easy walk to restaurants and suprmarket. Spacious flat. Interesting balcony for people watching. Allowed a late departure time of 12 noon. Unexpected offer of towel changes twice in week with opportunity to ask for more toilets rolls etc. Comfy bed.

We were told our host would meet us but we only communicated in Italian over WhatsApp. As we did not meet anyone they did not collect a local city tax which was apparently due. We were surprised to receive a request for this in Italian via message when we were waiting at the airport for our flight home. Lack of finishing touches in flat eg only 5 x coat hangers, no beer glasses. Maybe a welcome pack would be nice - we found just 2 x small bottles of water in the fridge on arrival after letting ourselves in. Balcony gets very hot in afternoon and needs shade. Maybe a pull down shade which we saw on another balcony in the block. Not the fault.of the hosts but on Fri/Sat evenings the bar nearby had very loud booming dance music through to around midnight. Also a resident dog barked non-stop until 1am every night which made sleep difficult.

Perfect!

We stayed for three nights on our way home from France to Germany, and we were absolutely delighted! Vivian, our travel agent, provided outstanding service and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. The apartment itself is incredibly cozy and comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the orthopedic pillows deserve a special mention—thank you for that! This was especially important for my husband, who recently had spine surgery, making our stay even more restful and pleasant. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the city, with everything within easy reach. The old town is charming and beautiful, making our short stay truly memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Superb location, terrific host, walk to everything

The location in central Stresa was unbeatable. Walk to everywhere, supermarket around the corner, laundromat 50 metres away, easy walk to the lake and many restaurants and cafes. Easy to find spots of an afternoon aperitivo.

The apartment was excellent immaculately clean, comfy bed, everything was perfect . Sonia met us at the property and was very helpful throughout our stay. The Apartment was ideally placed for shops, restaurants and a few minutes walk to the lake.

A little difficult to find as the street name has changed and dropped the Edmondo which is confusing plus the property manager was stuck in traffic, so it was hard to tell if we found the right place

Ideal location and place to stay

Stayed here as attending a wedding on one of the islands Sonia was lovely- our flight was delayed, but she enabled us to checkin despite our very late arrival! The plane was clean and quiet- location ideal as very close to the main square and less than 5 minutes from the beach

Amazing location, great sized apartment

Great central location, and perfect sized apartment. Immaculately clean. There is also an elevator which was a bonus! Right across the road from both a laundromat and supermarket. We loved our stay here and would absolutely return.

Not a fault of the property but car parking can be a little difficult. Would be nice to get a few extra towels as we felt bad asking for new towels every day, but the lady managing the property was absolutely lovely and nothing was a hassle to her.

Spacious beautifully-furnished apartment

The photos and description of the Flor and Iris don't do it justice--it's so much better than we expected. The apartment is spacious with several glass doors that open to a long private balcony overlooking a quiet street located close to the city center and lakefront. It's beautifully-furnished in a modern, upscale decor that looks like a photo in a resort-oriented magazine. The king-sized bed was very comfortable--we slept well during our 3-night stay. We didn't turn on the flat-screen TV because we assumed that the stations were mostly in Italian (which we don't speak), but for guests who do speak Italian and want home entertainment, the Flor and Iris is well-equipped. It's a 5-minute walk to the boat dock where we caught the boat to the Borrodean islands on one of our full days, and a 5-minute walk to the trailhead for the Chestnut Trail hike to Belgirate which we did on our other full day, taking the ferry back to Stresa. It's close to the train station and within easy walking distance of several restaurants and coffee shops, but the best thing about the location is that it's next door to the Coop where you can buy groceries and supplies, and it's next door to a laundromat which we used to wash/dry our clothes. The owner made suggestions for additional activities, but in our limited time we couldn't do more than we had planned. The Flor and Iris is definitely a winner--it's so much better than the tourist-oriented hotels in Stresa. Book with confidence--you won't be disappointed.

Very handy location, let down by quality of furnishings and equipment

Location was excellent next to supermarket, shops, cafes, restaurants and short walk to the lake. Quiet and secure with lift to second floor apartment. Comfortable bed and good shower.

Quality of furnishings basic and minimal. Quality of white goods poor. Minimum amount of crockery and cutlery provided. No washing up bowl or sink plug provided (no dishwasher) Couldn’t get heating to work on chilly evenings and no extra bedding provided to keep you warm.

Just Gawjuss 😊

Lovely & friendly host met us at the property - we used Google translate to communicate. Apartment is so central - very close to shops, bars & amazing restaurants. A nice balcony let's you watch the world go by. Apartment was exceptionally clean. Fabulous comfy beds with quality pillows & bedding. Modern bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Functional kitchen. Large flat screen tv.

Minor problem - Shower not huge but lots of very hot water. Internet was on & off - not always able to access streaming service on tv. We booked a two bedroom apartment (large double bed & sofa bed) because we needed two beds & we were charged €50 to have the sofa bed made up. Just because the booking was for two you can't presume they are going to share a bed !!! The experience at Fior & Iris was lovely & I wouldn't hesitate to visit again - very soon !!!

Couldn’t get the air con to work , but didn’t follow it up as we did not need it. A toaster would be good for breakfast . Otherwise really nice.

Very cental apartment close to ferry, restaurants and supermarket.

Location was excellent. Very clean apartment with lovely view of the hills.

booked an apartment with sofa bed as travelling with my grandson. Did not expect to pay 20 euros extra, to make up the sofa bed on arrival. As well I do not think that 4pm is acceptable for check in and 10 am for check out. We did manage to stay a little longer after asking as out train did not leave until 1pm.

Convenient Stresa stay

Very compact apartment. Convenient to bus/ train and city centre. Missing a couple of basics and a bit difficult to communicate with the owners. Lucky they use Google translate. Had to message for wifi password. Needs a manual to give some information about property and what to do in Stresa and surrounds.

Fabulous apartment, great location.

The apartment is fantastic. It’s very spacious for a couple, and in a great location. It is secure and has everything you need to cook at home. There’s a supermarket just around the corner too, and it’s an easy walk to plenty of restaurants, and to all the sites. I would definitely stay here again.

You need to proactively communicate with the host before you arrive. Unfortunately, I didn’t do this, and there was no information about how to get into the apartment. When we arrived and still hadn’t heard, I rang the number. The host does not speak English so we had to find a local person to talk to her on out behalf. We then had to wait a few hours before she could meet us. This was the only hitch to an otherwise very pleasant stay.

Super clean, modern, spacious, and a FANTASTIC location.

The apartment was immaculate, super clean. Location was FANTASTIC: 1 min walk to the grocery store, 3 min walk to gelato & pizza and street vendors, 4 min walk to the Post Office and the cash machine, 5 min walk to the Promenade on Lake Maggiore! The kitchen had everything we needed to make a few evening meals, and all our breakfasts. The whole place was modern and uncluttered, with plenty of space for our luggage (and lots of shelving to unpack our clothes), and provided a great space for hanging out, eating meals, and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony, reading or watching the sun set and the moon rise... We loved the delicious coffee from the Nespresso machine (both coffee pods and tea bags were available for us). We also appreciated the extra umbrellas that were provided, because we had one very rainy day -- but we were still able to enjoy walking around the town. The air conditioning was an added luxury, because it was very hot during our visit.

An excellent location - in the middle of the city center, 5 min walking distance to everything. Good breakfast opportunities - buy something in nearby grocery shop, have light breakfast in the patisserie around the corner, have full breakfast in the nearby hotels. Full equipped kitchen. An apartment has a good access - just few steps until an elevator. Well protected - 3 door keys from house entrance till apartment. The house owners were very friendly, they met us on arrival, helped with free parking (giving some tips).

Bath accessories (shampoo, body soap) were practically absent. We learned it was typical from such places as people are expected to bring them from home. It was not our case for long distance travelers. Expected is "hotel" like service - bath accessories for few days.

Clean self catering apartment in a nice central location. Good value for what we paid. It was very good to have our own fully equiped kitchen as it was a nice break from constantly eating out. Everything was super clean.

We had to confirm out arrival time about 5 times. We advised the arrival time of the ferry that we intended to catch. As we got on the ferry we confirmed that we had caught the ferry as advised. We confirmed that the arrival time was the same as advised previously. All this confirmation did not result in someone meeting us at the door to let us in. When we were at the door, we had to ring again to advise that we were there. Then we had to wait about 40 minutes for the lady to let us in....I appreciate that some people do not turn up - BUT how many times do you have to confirm ?
