De Ketse Steenuil

We had a fantastic stay and cannot recommend De Ketse Steenuil enough! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome. The house itself is beautiful, full of charm, character, and unique vintage details that made it feel truly special. The large garden was the perfect, peaceful place for our family to relax.Ruud has thought of everything, providing excellent facilities and thoughtful touches throughout the property. A major highlight for our family was spotting the owl in the owl house outside—it was a magical moment we will never forget!Ruud is a wonderful, hospitable host who really helped make our holiday in the Netherlands memorable. We would love to stay here again in the future!

The pictures of the house do not do the property justice. We booked thinking it looked incredible but upon arrival we were blown away. Ruud was a perfect host , gave us a tour of the house and explained all the amenities and his fancy gadgets! The kitchen is just as it would be at home there was nothing that we required that was not at the property. Our daughter hardly spent any time inside the house she was constantly playing outside in the beautiful garden full of butterflies and birds and OWLS! The property is spotless inside and out. The location is perfect for a peaceful stay close to the town centre and only 1 hour drive to rotterdam city centre. When inside the property Ruud provided an abundance of family games and colouring pencils , we of course could not depart without creating some owl drawings. We will most certainly be back! Wunderbar heimelig und sehr schöner Garten! Sämtliche Ausstattung die man braucht war vorhanden. Der Gastgeber Ruud war ebenfalls außergewöhnlich nett - die Familie hat uns mit einer selbstgemachten Karte sowie einer Flasche Wein begrüßt.

Our stay at De Ketse Steenuil was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The holiday home has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel instantly relaxed and at home. Every detail has clearly been thoughtfully considered, creating a space that is both comfortable and charming. The garden grounds are truly fantastic—beautifully maintained and perfect for unwinding, whether you're enjoying a morning coffee or an evening drink. The facilities are excellent and added to the overall ease and enjoyment of our stay. A special mention goes to Ruud Emmerik, who was a brilliant host. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about ensuring guests have the best experience possible, he made our stay even more memorable. We would highly recommend De Ketse Steenuil to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. We can’t wait to return!
