Overall good value for money but could be improved upon.

Easy check in process. Allowed last minute early check in (although expensive). Door code hadn't been updated but someone was on hand via phone to update this and was able to message me a new door code.

The room had a smell (stale). The floor of the bathroom had old water marks from previous tenants. There was no way to ventilate the bathroom therefore there was a smell from the drains. The floor had bits of old paper and debris on them when I arrived. Bedclothes had some flecks of dirt on them but this was easily removed. The window was not able to be opened and as such there was an accumulation of condensation which had led to mould and lifting go the pain around the woodwork on the window which was disappointing.

Overall our stay here was amazing and we would definitely stay here again!

It has lovely decoration and facilities and it is only an 10/15 minute walk from city centre and 8 minute walk from the Rock City venue which was why we booked the hotel. The area is generally lovely as it’s mostly a student accommodation area all the way into the city so me and my partner felt safe walking. There is also a corner shop right outside that’s open very late as we went in at 1am for some food. The cleanliness of the property was great apart from a few stains and hairs but everything else was amazing, the bed was so nice.

The email that was sent to “check in” was slightly confusing and we ended up having to ring the helpline because there is no staff at the property it’s all self service however the person that spoke to us was extremely helpful and we resolved the issue immediately. Finally, my only concern was that when you get there you have to agree to a fee of £150 for a damage deposit hold which could be an issue and it is not refunded for a few days which could be an issue for some staying here.

Clean, comfortable room, excellent value for money

Absolutely no complaints - the door code was easy to use, the room was clean, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. We had a twin room on the ground floor so didn't have to worry about the lift. Would definitely stay again, though it is a little further out of town than I thought - we Uber'd into the centre just because it was raining badly. We didn't use the kitchen facilities but there seemed to be everything you'd need.

Nothing at all - just be aware its not very convenient for taxi drivers to drop you off nearby, busy road.

Excellent apart from problems with the external door code.

Location was good, only a short bus ride from the city centre. Parking was OK. Car Park across the road took a long while to find! It was hidden by a pub. Absolutely no other parking close by in the side streets, which have a terrible one way system.

There were problems with the outside door code which didn't work. It was a freezing cold windy December night and we had to search to find the emergency telephone number. Fortunately at 10pm we were able to ring and get another external door code. It is very important that this emergency contact number ios available 24/7 as otherwise we could have been stranded without anywhere to stay.

Comfortable and convenient

The room was really comfortable, had a tv, and a small kitchenette. I was a perfect place for travellers, like me, who was travelling around the UK on somewhat of a budget. It was clean and comfortable. Check in was to be done online, and a deposit need to be paid online. We had some issues due to international banking, but staff on duty was really helpful in assisting us.

There are no lifts. So we had to carry our 18kg luggage up the stairs. But thats only a problem if you have big luggage. The deposit payment online is also somewhat troublesome and seems abit exorbitant- but you do get it back after your stay.

Horrendous

Paid for a room. Got there at 11 pm and the staff room. Let me access the room so I had to drive home which was a three hour drive. And didn’t get my money back.

It was OK.

The shower cubicle was not clean, there was pink soap scum on the grouting, and the shower door was grubby. The heated towel rail was full of dust, and we had half used loo rolls. The kitchen sink had no plug for washing the dishes, and we were missing a bowl. We did ask a housemaid for one but it did not appear. The comunual stairs looked like they needed a good hover. The whole room needed a deep clean, as even the walls were dusty, the bedside drawer had someone else rubbish in it, so had never been checked.

I come here a lot to stay, and it’s annoying having to pay £150 damage deposit and wait 3-5 days after for the return. But other than that it’s amazing!

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location was good with only a short walk into the city centre.

It was very clean with the toilet and shower especially so. The bed was very comfortable.

There was no broom or dustpan/brush. Any floor sweeping after cooking had to be done by hand.

The place was clean and a good size.

The lift didn't work and they were not able to provide a room on a lower floor. It is 150 metres from the nearest paid parking as the crow flies, unfortunately my bags don't fly like crows and so we had to cross two roads and then climb two flights of stairs. My wife is asthmatic and struggled climbing the stairs several times a day. We requested a room on a lower floor but they were not able to do so.

Disappointed.

The bed was fine. Good location as well.

Firstly, the bathroom was far too small. We'd been put in a room that wasn't the one we'd been assigned to on the first night, which was fine, but the mattress on the sofa bed was so stained, it wasn't used. We weren't told that the lift wasn't working, but going up the stairs wasn't too bad. The iron wasn't fit for purpose. Our assigned room didn't have any hand wash in the bathroom. The first room had quite a bit of dust under the bed. And there needs to be a privacy screen or blinds, as we felt exposed with just the curtains. I also felt that the doors didn't lock properly.
