Location
There is a drainage issue. We told it would be fixed but it wasn’t. Had to swap rooms and was compensated which was fair.
The site has no onsite reception team. So reporting issues is a phone call.
New room had occasional drainage smell but that might be to do with the weather and age of the building.

The staff were absolutely fantastic, very friendly and helpful
The lock on the hotel door was broken, which led to me being locked out on my first night. Luckily, my partner was inside and could open it from there, however on the second day we were both out, so I had to contact the hotel to fix it, otherwise we would be locked out overnight. The bathroom flooded when you used the shower, and also let off a strong sewage smell. Also, we were unable to control the radiator from our room - it was sweltering hot when we went to bed, but the radiator turned off overnight and it was freezing in the morning.

Food was lovely as were the staff. Location to where we were visiting was great.
No breakfast but knew that in advance.
Main showerhead (not the detachable one) needed a good clean, had mold on it as did a few of the shower tiles. Bleach would get rid of it easily.
More Christmas decorations!!
Overall stay was nice.

Lovely room, comfortable beds, plenty of parking and great restaurant/bar too- the food was lovely!
This wasn’t a problem for us as we were awake but it’s fairly noisy until 11 when the restaurant and bar close and staff arrive from 8 to start cleaning.

What I had not appreciated was that there was no breakfast available. But the evening meal was excellent.
When I left there was noone to say did you enjoy your stay. I just left the key on the side as instructed by the cleaner.

Great staff, rooms were lovely, very comfortable and clean.
The bar downstairs was great.
Location is just a little out of Oxford but there is a bus ride into town.
Cannot fault the place, will definitely stay again.

Nicely decorated and presented room. Very clean and in a good location for Blenheim Palace which was the purpose of our trip and very friendly staff - especially the young waiter in the restaurant.
There was a drainage smell in the bathroom the whole time we were there which was being addressed with a drainage company late one evening. There was also a private function on the Saturday night in the marquee which unfortunately was facing our room and was very loud until quite late. I appreciate that these places have to make their money in a variety of different ways but if I stayed again I would try and specify a room on the other side of the hotel.

Nice comfortable room
Restaurant service extremely poor we waited nearly an hour for main course and the food was not good, we did get a refund though we ate elsewhere after the first night

Excellent staff
The room was not deluxe as we had booked. It was shabby and only half decorated. Undercoat had been applied but the final coat had only been put on one and a half of the walls! There appeared to be water damage above the radiator as the plaster was peeling off the wall. The bathroom smelt faintly of sewage and the general condition was very poor.

Nice comfy room , plenty of parking and near where we wanted to be. Got there late so can't say what the bars or food was like. Very nice young lady had stayed to welcome us in
It seemed like we couldn't get in as we were late but found an open door :) They don't do breakfast but suggest a very cafe just down the road so all good

Lovely building, comfy bed.
Overpriced, no hot water for a shower.

Evening bar staff and server. 10/10
Food, room and cleanliness and hygiene, and appearance of room, half painted walls, mould in room and bathroom. Human feces in toilet on arrival. The food was clearly frozen and not fresh, hence sending my entire meal back to the kitchen, without even taking a bite. The pizza looked like it was from Iceland. My wife burnt herself on the towel rail which wouldn’t switch off.
We will never return.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
On arrival the room had a double bed and I requested a twin room. The staff quickly sorted out the room.
The food was very good and reasonably priced.
The road noise. Not the hotels fault. The A40 is very close by and it was a hot evening so we needed to have the windows open. On a cooler night we would not have had any issues.
9.0 / 10.0
The building and interior decoration. The outdoor space. The dinner. The staff. The ease of access from the A40. Tons of parking. Comfortable and luxurious feel.
No breakfast provided and road noise.

The room was very well appointed with a very comfortable bed, double aspect windows that provided plenty of fresh air. The room also had a large TV, a fan, hair dryer, nespresso coffee maker and tea making facilities with breakfast bars and biscuits. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was very clean. The bathroom was very nice and shower was excellent. It has lovely beer gardens and is ideally located close to most Cotswolds areas, Oxford and Bicester.
They could have served breakfast.

Lovely clean room well decorated and fresh. Great shower and facilities. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. Food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service.
Coffee machine in room but the mugs wouldn't fit the machine but when asked were supplied with coffee cups from the bar. No breakfast available.

Lovely old pub, plenty of parking.
Spotless, comfortable bed and pillows.
Good food for lunches and dinner.
A big shout out for the lovely Lucy she looked after us and made us feel very welcome. Thank you so much Lucy.
Only in heatwave conditions the room was very hot could only open one window a few inches but they did have a small fan we could use. Also problems with the cold water in the shower running hot but that was going to be looked at after we left.

Exactly where we wanted to be and such a lovely room
Hard to find fault - no lift? is that a fault or just made return with infirm parents out of the question

Good location for us
Very warm evening. Only one small fan and the windows only open a few inches. The smell of the inclusive toilet was entering the room as there appeared to be no ventilation in there. The wall of the room had flaking paint signs. Obviously noisy at night as we are over a bar area, but that was expected. Overall very disappointing stay.

No breakfast available, despite the statement on the website.
The recommended cafe for breakfast around the corner closed some time ago on the estate of new houses. Restaurant for evening meal closed early.
Small pokey rooms with windows that did not stay open for ventilation in the heat.
One bathroom had serious sewage outflow issues with foul smell. The shower taps and fittings were loose in danger of detaching from wall.
Staff friendly but not on site and clearly had little interest in the quality of hospitality. Money invested in good quality fire doors, little else though.

Quite location apart from main road to the front. Attended an event at Blenheim Palace just a 15 min drive away. Do not rely on Uber/Taxi.
Wish our room had a large double bed not just a standard one.

Easy to find. Close to Blenheim where we were going for a concert. Very friendly staff. The room was good; very comfy bed, lovely tea/coffee making facilities, clean.
Whilst the room was good, etc, it could do with a little TLC
-Unfinished decorating - there were literally parts of the walls that just hadn't been finished!
-No fan (understand no AC because this is England!). Mid heat-wave....I am SO glad we thought to bring our own.
-Broken shower - overhead shower great, but the knob to change to hand held shower head just span round and round so couldn't just wash hair
-Loo roll holder broken
-The windows only open about 15cm, and I understand why but one of them doesn't stay open, you have to prop it.

The hotel was a very nice Cotswold stone building. Room very comfortable and they had provided a room fan on what was a very hot weekend. Staff were friendly.
The meal we had in the restaurant was not up to scratch, some of my food was burnt and it wasn’t good value for money.

The pub was lovely and the staff very pleasant. The rooms were outstanding!!…Super impressed.
We had dinner there. The menu looked fabulous however there were a number of issues. There was new staff member who got the order a bit wrong - that was fine and we totally understood. However, we ordered entrees and mains for the 3 of us and EVERYTHING came out at the same time. I would have thought that even the kitchen staff would have questioned that. All of that aside, when we did have our meal it was a big disappointment..not good at all. The sad part is that the food was no reflection on the pub and the front of house staff. Sorry, but they need to get a better chef/cook. 😔

We were surprised to be told on arrival that breakfast wasn’t served.
The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable.
The staff were accommodating to my friend’s dietary requirements.
There was no information in the room about the WiFi or about the hotel and the area.

Although near a main road it was relatively quiet. Room was clean & decor nice. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good. Hotel in a good location for visiting area.
The bed mattress dipped & was quite soft. Shame breakfast was not offered & for some reason we just had one rice krispie bar in our room .
We did not agree with a service charge being added to our dining bill , especially as just 2 of us also.
