It was in a convenient spot. The neighborhood was really quiet and we were able to enjoy it as a group.

For the price point, this is a decent accommodation and quite spacious for the Japan’s standard.

The bathroom was mouldy.

Great price and good links to the various attractions in and around Tokyo.

The apartment is well located for travellers who plan on visiting a number of different spots in Greater Tokyo and further flung places rather than just the usual touristic places. The basics for self-catering are all there. There is a nearby supermarket as well as a pharmacy (that also sells food!) and Lawson and Family Mart a stone’s-throw away. Transport is ridiculously close and easy. I took connecting buses on occasion in order to shorten trip times and get to other train lines that require connecting with super-busy stations. The densely suburban neighbourhood is relatively quiet but still has lots of life. Easy to wash and dry clothes. Aircon was a blessing in the humid heat of June.

When I arrived at Apt. 205 (not the one I booked, it had to be changed due to some problem the day before I arrived) there was what I would describe as a mouldy, wet dog smell through the apartment and the toilet smelled like old urine. So I got to work the next day. I used what was on hand to give things the once over then headed down to Decohome to buy some extra cleaning supplies and a few bits that the apartment needed to be a bit more comfortable. The mouldy, wet dog smell was coming from mould growing on the walls, floor and ceiling of the bathroom. I cleaned it from top to bottom and it looked like a new bathroom. Shameful that it was allowed to become such a filthy health hazard, but problem was fixed. I also wiped over everything else in the apartment including food splatters (??) in some weird places. Washing machine also had a bleach soak to get the musty odour out of the drum and loosen mould and algae that was then expelled. The bedding was so uncomfortable I bought a memory foam mattress topper for $120 that I left behind along with all the other cleaning supplies, etc. The click-clack pleather sofa was the most uncomfortable of its kind. The metal springs could be felt through the seat. In terms of the age and serviceability of the apartment, the price is spot on, but for its cleanliness it wasn’t worth it. Still, there’s value there. Mgmt company very responsive when a neighbouring guest started playing a podcast loudly past 11pm. Another resident was playing a soccer sportscast at full volume while having a shower. Seems the European guests don’t understand keeping noise to a minimum even though there are signs outside and inside the apartments. Apart from that there’s the usual sounds of local children crying, hammering and knocking at different times of the day and evening from nearby residents and businesses. Nothing major. Yes, there are cockroaches, but they are the very small and slow-moving ones.
