Wonderful Stay at the Millbrae Lodges

Our room was exceptional. It was so clean and cozy. Collum was so kind and helpful and so friendly. He brought breakfast to our room in the morning. It was delicious and very filling! He even left a bottle of wine in the fridge for us the night we checked in. We have traveled quite a bit and Millbrae Lodges is by far one of our favorites! If we are ever in the area again we will book with Collum and Elaine again. We highly recommend the Millbrae Lodges.

Exceeds expectations - we will return!

We came to Millbrae for our honeymoon and it was truly perfect. Colum and Elaine are wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they were very easy to contact if we needed anything. The room was huge, very comfortable and spotless. We had even been left a some chocolate and bottle of fizz to celebrate our honeymoon, the little touches absolutely made our stay so special.

This place is rich with culture and character. The remnants of the early 1700's property makes it a great place to appreciate Ireland's history. The owner cares deeply about the customers, making it a special experience.

Fantastic property, friendly host, modern accommodation

Everything was amazing from start to finish. Colum was the most helpful host and went over and above to be welcoming and any need was met (including an emergency needle and thread!) Breakfast was a great continental and delivered at the time we requested. Super super clean and spacious and warm. Loads of tea bags and coffee sachets and decorated really well with well chosen furniture. Peaceful location.

Perfect long weekend.

Colum and Elaine were wonderful hosts, they made sure we had everything we needed to have an amazing stay with them, we stayed for 3 very peaceful and relaxing nights, a very filling continental breakfast was delivered to the door every morning for us to enjoy in our room or outside in the courtyard if the weather was nice. The room itself had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere it is so peaceful, but you are only a 5 minute drive away from restaurants and shops and 20 minutes away from Belfast City, we would certainly stay again.

There was nothing we didn't like, we had a perfect long weekend away.

Great property with excellent host in a beautiful country setting

Fantastic host and lovely property. The rooms are in a converted stable and Colm has done a fantastic job of setting these up. Continental breakfast was delivered to the room and was great.

THe property was a little hard to find. Our GPS kept sending us to a different place but once we had found the property it was great and we would be very happy to stay again.

Hidden gem

Beautiful converted stable block in a lovely rural setting. Stayed in the self catering unit and attention to detail has been given to all areas. Everything needed for our stay was there including a welcome hamper. Stayed while attending The Open in Portrush and visiting surrounding area. Colum is very welcoming, friendly and helpful, and interested in our visit and gave us recommendations on where to eat nearby Lily's Bar and Kitchen where we had a lovely meal and also advised us on parking in the city.

This property and host blew us all away. The rooms we had were to the highest spec . Nothing else came close to this in our trip . The hosts Colum and Elaine were superb, helped in every way possible. The breakfasts were excellent. Cannot fault this property. Even though it has been open over five years it was impeccable.

Excellent and a great base just outside Belfast!

One the cleanest most comfortable stays here!! Set in heart of countryside, fantastically renovated to an excellent standard!! A must visit!! We are returning guests and will continue to do so!! Hosts are so welcoming and helpful, no request is an issue! They get back to you promptly and willingly!! BBQ area, outside seating, we sat out and enjoyed a peaceful beverage, beautiful!

There was nothing not to like. Lodge was extremely clean, close to Belfast city centre which was only a 20minute spin. Tesco close by in Lisburn city also. Was very easy to find. Stayed here as we were going to the super car driving experience and wanted somewhere close by and it wasn’t a disappointment. would defiantly stay here again if we were to return to Belfast. Colum was lovely and very welcoming.

Perfect stay

Everything about our stay was absolutely fabulous. The lodge was the cutest – spotless throughout, with every little detail carefully thought out. Colum was amazing. Truly nothing was too much trouble for him, he went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Breakfast arrived in the most charming basket and was just as lovely as the rest of the experience. All you need for a good stay!

What a lovely place! Nice and big room with a spotless bathroom. Breakfast basket was delivered to the room in the morning at agreed hour - our vegetarian breakfast was delicious and beautiful! The host was welcoming and attentive. Beware the mobile reception might be poor. It's good there was wi-fi available.

Wake up with the singing of birds.

We had a very pleasant stay at Millbrae Lodges for two nights and our host was very friendly and helping. The room was clean and well equiped with all you need for a good stay. We got our breakfast delivered at the room and we waked up by the singing birds. What a nice place. A great thank you to our host to bring us to the airport to collect our car rental, we'll never forget your friendliness!

Lovely property and attentive hosts

The hosts were very attentive and welcoming. There was a 'treats package' on arrival and milk, tea and coffee ready to use. The accomodation was spotless and furnishings comfortable and like new. The location was perfect. Out of the hussle and bussle of the city, but just a short drive (30 mins) to all the city centre attractions, and also ideally located for countryside drives through places of outstanding natural beauty. We appreciated Colum dropping by each evening to check if we needed anything, and chatting about our day, and for droppong by to say goodbye, before we left. The front of the lodge was an absolute sun trap in the late afternoons / evenings, with garden furniture on which to relax and enjoy a glass of wine or beer after a busy day exploring. A very relaxed and enjoyable stay.

We struggled with the taste of the tap water and recommend letting it run fully on cold for a bit before using it to make tea, to avoid a 'rubbery' taste. Alternatively, use bottled water for hot drinks... or just drink the local beers!

Incredible Place! Great Host!

The place was incredible, and the staff were amazing! We were staying for a trade show nearby and we were having to leave in the mornings at 8am, just before breakfast is usually due. So they ended up bringing us our breakfast early for us. Such a personal touch to an amazing place. We will 100% be staying there again!
