Bedroom was so noisy pipes were banging and making loud noises all night Chef kept rubbing his nose and face while cooking breakfast made me feel sick

I travel to the UK quite a bit for work and typically stay elsewhere when I'm in this area. This was my first stay at Horsley. I can say very honestly it will NOT be my last. I loved the location, the staff was excellent, all the meals I had were top notch and the wi-fi was awesome. 100% recommend and will stay again.

Only two items stay in my memory but they weren't show stoppers. The TV in the room simply didn't work to get a signal. Maybe the largest complaint, if it registers that high on the scale, was the way you need to enter the hotel after hours. Its hard to describe really.... IMO this needs to be upgraded ASAP. :) I didn't register a complaint with anyone because it wasn't that bothersome,

Short but sweet stay.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was so cosy. Unfortunately we didn't get to spend much time at Horsley Lodge but what we saw was lovely. Grounds are gorgeous. Our bed was super comfy too. Thank you.

The golf course, the breakfast, the staff are a credit to the hotel.

Upon arrival the drainage in the en-suite was really smelly. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. But the staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us to make up for this.

A decent location for an overnight stay

Free parking, helpful staff, comfortable bed, good dinner and breakfast.

The room we were initially given was above the members' bar and there was an extremely loud and annoying small group of drunkards in there. The noise was so bad that it sounded like they were in our room (we changed rooms, which was handled quickly by a helpful member of staff). When we sat on the terrace outside, the same drunkards came out to annoy everyone with their lack of common sense and courtesy, shouting loudly and swearing with absolutely no consideration for the other guests. The ringleader was a middle aged man who drove a black Ferrari and behaved like an overgrown child.

Lovely stay but no lift

Lovely room, great breakfast with a view.

No lift up to the room and two sets of stages, which was a bit tricky with a toddler and husband who'd recently had a knee op.

Breakfast ? What breaakfast???? we waited over an hour and couldnt wait any longer. Besides dripping with sweat as they said they couldnt open the doors, the whole experience was appalling.

Your golf members were absolutely pissed and talking loudly about showing their cocks to a golfing lady who was playing golf at the time. Disgraceful shocking and you are lucky i did not call the police.

Perfect location for our needs. Lovely staff and a fabulous breakfast. Comfy bed too.

Poor shower - very old shower head that didn't really work very well, sprayed water in every direction except the one you wanted! Shampoo provided but no conditioner. No net curtains or blind so that we had to draw the curtains fully to get changed and the room was very hot - there wasn't any air conditioning.

A most enjoyable stay and chance to play an excellent interesting course

The food was well cooked but the range of food on offer was poor. It would have been nice to have fruit on offer. The menu for the evening meal suited me but my husband thought it too restricted. The tandoori cod, which I had on first night was excellent and perfectly cooked and the pizzas were very good. The staff throughout are delightful - friendly, welcoming and efficient.

Stayed in a beautiful 3-floor cottage with a spa bath—absolutely lovely! The place had so much character, with stunning views of the gardens and golf course. Peaceful, cozy, and full of charm. Highly recommend!

Lovely venue for a celebration. Beautiful grounds.

Location was beautiful. We attended a family event for Sunday lunch. All was lovely. Cant comment on the rooms as we did not stay over night.

The floor was rather sticky as there had obviously been a wedding in the same rooms as we were in, so probably just needed a second mopping over.

Accommodation fine, but staff & food let it down.

The accommodation was lovely and Ed who works there is an absolute credit to them. Such a shame everyone else isn't as nice & helpful as Ed!!

The staff that were bringing food out to us on our wedding night meal (and the breakfast the morning after) had zero clue what they were doing. They missed my 5 year olds meal completely and my 1 year old daughter’s sides she was having for her meal. They missed quite a few sides that people had ordered. A few people from our party complained on the dreadful quality of food (myself included) which is a shame for such an expensive meal. You spend £600 on a room and £120 on food (just our bill alone, you also had another 8 adults staying with you also who paid for rooms & food) and you expect a very high expectation, which didn’t get met unfortunately.

Poor - Uncomfortable

The staff were lovely

I booked the room stating I was travelling with a toddler and the Suite we booked firstly was not a suite it was a small cottage and it was far from toddler friendly. The bath on the top floor clearly needed replace or fixing, the water pressure in the shower was poor. narrow metal staircase to get to the bedroom is frankly dangerous and the bed was so small and uncomfortable. Over all I was extremely disappointed with the accommodation and would certainly not re visit

A delightful stay in beautiful surroundings with lovely helpful staff.

Breakfast was very good and we were able to choose slightly different to the menu. The views were excellent and the room was very comfortable.

The staff were extremely pleasant but the younger staff in the dining room room did need a bit more training. We might have liked a second coffee at breakfast but no one came to ask for instance, just little things like that. An exception to that was an older man waiting on at one meal time who could have set them a very good example.

Noise 7.15am petrol leaf blower under our window After midnight bedtime I was forced to dress, go downstairs and ask for the loud Ibiza bangers to be turned off in the breakfast room where the speaker is place under bedroom floor . Lovely location, plenty of parking. Evening meal & breakfast was excellent & good value.

My particular room did not offer much in way of window view, and as its an old building the floors in the bedroom above do creek & groan when somebody is moving around. Also it would be better if breakfast started at 07:00 not 07:30, when I'm on business and getting back on the road, that 30 mins will make a difference
