Perfect place to stop at for a stay in Ghent

Feels like this used to be a fancy hotel

1. Someone entered our looked room by mistake just as i was getting ready to shower. That should not be possible. When we came back from breakfast the next morning our room card has stopped working, so it seems like the card system the hotel uses is not the most reliable. 2. The shower smelled like sewage. 3. While the eggs and bacon at the breakfast were good, the pancakes were dry and the danish rolls were doughy. 4. We stayed in room 105. There's a cupboard over the fridge that has a very sharp corner that sticks out into the room, my boyfriend (while being sober and fully awake) hit his head on it resulting in 2 serious cuts of a size that would justify stitches. While this obviously wasn't the cupboard's fault it feels like something that shouldn't be as easy to achieve, corner protectors are cheap.

An excellent choice if in Hamburg, but with frequent trains to there

A short walk from station. Although in town centre, is a quiet location in a small park.

Breakfast had zero labelling on what was veggie/vegan. Staff perhaps a little too enthusiastic clearing empty plates at breakfast - felt somewhat hurried and created twice as much washing up than necessary for our breakfasts.

I like the hotel very much. The room was excellent with a very nice bed, shower, television and other amenities. Near to shops, bakeries and the subway. Excellent parking possibilities.

Passable

The guy behind the desk made me pay for the room again, when I checked in, even though I told him, that I payed in advance. Luckily I convinced him in the end and got my money back. I also asked about the parking situation, and he told me everything was fine, but when we had to leave the hotel we couldn’t get the car out of the parking area because the reception hadn’t opened yet.

Good stay over hotel

Breakfast was excellent and plenty of everything. Beds were very good and the room was clean. Staff was (very) nice.

Very busy during breakfast and we couldn't sit in the usual breakfast area and were placed in a somewhat cold and cheerless conference room. No elevator to our floor which was no problem for us but I can imagine for others that would be an unwelcome surprise. Not as close to the highway as I thought. (that's my mistake, I could have checked better)

Comfortable and friendly

Very spacious room with 2 double beds and 2 cots, which the staff was extremely friendly to arrange for us at no additional costs. The staff was very kind and helpful, the location is ideal, with supermarkets, coffee shops, pharmacy and more just a few steps away. The hotel is easily accessible by public transport.

The only inconvenience was that our room was located on the 3rd floor and the elevator only got till the 2nd floor, hence we had to carry the buggies via the staircase, but the staff helped us and also offered a storage room on the 2nd floor. However, that might have been to offer us a bigger room. Toiletteries were not provided, even after asking at the reception. In the bathroom there were soap and shampoo dispensers.
