Uncomfortable

Free coffee & lemon water

I stayed in a superior suite which consisted of two single beds & one bed was badly uneven & would often bang around in the floor making it impossible to sleep on. When asked staff about the possibility of solving this issue, I was completely dismissed as though I was being unreasonable. So I stayed for 4 days on a single bed & I’m 6”4.

Good all-round hotel with a great breakfast and pool

The breakfast was great, and the service was good. We enjoyed the pool. The pool was well maintained and open from very early until very late. Very nice. The hotel has a good vibe, with free coffee and snacks at the reception all day round.

The hotel carpets look dirty / damaged here and there. Maybe it is time for a face lift. Also, the hotel location is a little bit low end, with lots of litter on the streets in the area.

This hotel could be for you (depending on what you want)

- most important for me, I found the room and hotel to be clean and comfortable. - the hotel offers a good breakfast. There’s a slightly older lady always busy and making sure everything is running smoothly and plates are tidied / cups refilled. - 4/5 mins stroll straight up on the same road is buchforst Waldecker Straße station and a number 3 train takes you direct to Lanx arena in a few mins. A couple of minutes further on that road is buchforst station which takes you direct to Cologne central station. So whilst you aren’t next to the cathedral/old city centre, the transit system is so easy to get anywhere from airport to any day trips. Tickets can be bought online and at stations and on trains and there are so many stations, you’re always close to atleast a few options to get around. - the candy and popcorn station is a really welcoming touch in the hotel lobby. - I liked the fact there are a couple of supermarkets next door for you to pop in and buy a few essentials. I also tried the one eatery nearby called Adana Grill which served me fresh and tasty Turkish food.

- The hotel is more tired looking than the pictures would like you to believe. - The hotels bar and restaurant being open seemed to be a bit hit and miss , it was fine for me as I ate out but not great if you are depending on this option. - whilst I don’t expect an over the top customer service style, the boys on reception can at least try and look a bit bothered and act a bit more helpful. They weren’t rude or anything like that , but it’s really not the best image you want to be portraying.

The location and the reception hall somehow.

The bed never comfortable, there is no carpets in the rooms and no slippers to use, room’s minibar wasn’t working, waited long time in the reception until they checked my reservation however I booked via booking and my booing was confirmed, more than 30 minutes I waited.

The location was good, quite close to Cologne Messe. The rooms were clean and it was great to have a swimming pool & a sauna. The staff was polite and friendly.

Despite request to fix room's safe upon arrival, this was not done throughout my stay (5 nights) No stairs available for my room's wing. out of 2 elevators was out of order throughout my stay which caused long delays in using the one in operation. In need of refurbishment!

It's wonderful that I can use the pool and gym. In deciding the hotel, it is a good feeling.

Pet-friendly hotels may or may not allow dogs in the cafeteria. If I can't bring my dog with us, it's a bit inconvenient to divide my family into two groups for breakfast. My dog doesn't eat human food and sleeps on the floor. It's a breed that doesn't shed hair, so it doesn't even fly in the air. What is your reason for not entering the cafeteria?

Nothing fascinating could’ve been better

The pool and sauna didn’t have staff but you could use it by asking reception and it makes the stay worth the money. breakfast had fruits and that’s was a good thing apart from standard breakfast.

No Queen/Big Beds available, even when the online booking option said single big bed is available. since I had paid for booking in advance the staff really didn’t care much about my stay when I arrived. the location is tricky with limited options to Centre so please check and plan in advance.

Room equipments were poor, no fridge and hard to adjust AC. Handrail in bathroom was broken and remained as it was. one of elevator was broken and took long time to get on.

Good chain hotel

The breakfast has great variety. The hotel is spacious and the rooms were serviced promptly. The staff was helpful and the amenities good.

The hotel could use some renovation or improvements in terms of looks. However, this did not affect the experience for us at all. Staff could have been friendlier but they were competent and helpful nonetheless.
