Fabulous location for Xmas markets, friendly staff and good price.

Firstly the man on reception (wish I’d gotten his name) was very friendly and helpful. He assisted with early check in and tips for trains etc. Breakfast buffet was great, lots of choice. Fabulous location for the Christmas markets.

Room was a little small but absolutely fine, tidy and comfortable bed, good shower.

Totally disappointed

The location was great

First & foremost we booked a room with city view but instead were given a room with a shaft view 😔 When I complained at reception they said it's Booking.com 's fault that gave that description because rooms for 3 don't come with a view. At breakfast when things finished like the granola and English breakfast tea, it took them 2 days to re-fill. Our room was never cleaned, only towels were changed and as for the beds they just folded the duvet ! Not even staighten the sheets ! And the last problem was a gas like smell in the bathroom. Twice men from reception came up and smelled it but nothing was done. Would never go there again .No way

Single bed was larger than standard, making it very comfortable. Definitely would stay here for longer if I’m ever in Cologne again 😃

Unexpectedly perfect stay

I booked the first inexpensive hotel I came across, just to spend the night on my way, and was simply shocked by the level of comfort. I'm not kidding - it was the most comfortable bed in my life. The nicest staff. The ideal location close to the train station and the cathedral, but at the same time not too close to the somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere at the station. Unexpectedly perfect.

Excellent, supportive staff!

During my stay in Cologne I got a knee injury and was bed-bound for two days as I could hardly walk. Staff helped me a lot during that time, for example when I asked that I might have to extend my stay in case my condition worsens. They offered me to cancel the extended booking on very short notice and upheld the booking just in case. That gave me peace of mind!

Don't book in summer

Hotel isn't designed for for handling the summerheat. The room has no airconditioning or whatsoever. As it was outside 35 celsius, the room was also super hot. Opening the windows isn't an option as it's next to busy road which will keep you otherwise awake. When it's finally cooler, the construction site next door starts at 06:00 with noises. So I would recommend everybody to choose another option in the City. Even the rooms are poorly renovated (bathroom door can't be closed. Shower head can't be changed as there is no room in the corner to change the position) The cleaning crew already takes all the bed sheets and towels away 2 hours before your check out time. Can tell you from experience that it's strange to see somebody in your hotel room while you haven't checked out

Great spot for a short stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful and were quick to solve any problems that arose with the facilities. The location is excellent, walking distance to everything. The breakfast was very good and plentiful.

Poor internet connection but this is to be rectified over the next couple of months as we were advised that the whole hotel is to undergo refurbishment. Including internet connections.

The following aspects have been appreciated: - Big bedroom with garderobe - Big mirror in the bedroom - Cleaned room with all services - Staff - Position near the railway station and the city center

There were only 2 electrical outlets in the whole room, for the rest nothing to mention among the negative aspects.
