Atholl House Skye

Location was excellent. A short drive to the castle and other areas. Had some excellent restaurants, ice cream and bakery near by. Staff was helpful. We booked the tiny home on the premises. It was very nice and private. It needed some additional space for luggage storage as there was no place to really place it and we wound up keeping it open on the floor, which cut down on the space. Clean, beautiful and as expected.

The room was a bit on the high side. It is a bed and breakfast, and my assumption was that every room should come with breakfast. Totally my fault, as it did state that in the listing that breakfast was not included. I have a firm opinion that any bed and breakfast should include breakfast. Needed space for luggage and the bathroom needed another shelf for toiletries. Minor things and nothing that should sway you from booking.

The location and the staff were marvellous. The property was squeaky clean, too.

We felt the property was slightly overpriced. The checkout time could have been a bit later than 10am.

The staff were always friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood, which made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The location is convenient if you have a car — which you’ll need to explore the island anyway — and the free parking at the hotel was a big plus.

The room was quite small and felt dated. The toilet layout was small and wasn’t very user-friendly, which made it a bit uncomfortable to use. Also, the corridor and lounge area are located near the kitchen, and there was often a noticeable smell of cooking fumes in those spaces, which affected the overall experience. With some updates and better ventilation, the hotel could offer a much more pleasant stay.
