Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, good facilities and some food and drinks for sale. Very Japanese experience due to futon beds and onsen. Hiking trails and activities nearby.
Quite expensive for a backpackers hostel, notceasy to reach with public transport.

Amazing guesthouse that I was sad to leave and already working out when I can come back. The room was really cosy, spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfortable. There are two kitchens both with a well stocked pantry of noddles, rice, curry etc. and a good variety of vegetarian options! Three private onsens that can be booked daily, my favourite was the outdoor onsen. The breakfast bagels and yoghurt were perfect starts to the day, and there is the option to pay for additional bagels. The staff were also so welcoming and helpful.
I was using the local buses which does make certain schedules restrictive but I was able to do everything I wanted to.
