We have stayed before - the people is the major reason we return.

Loved the grounds and location. Room was clean . A tasty and nutritious breakfast dialing, Mostly we loved the staff - friendly, helpful, attentive and personable.

Going to the races at Laytown its a great spot.

The breakfast was good plenty of choice, the room was comfortable great matterest and the staff were nice. Used the pool, steam room and sauna there's also a gym.

The view from the room was ground floor at the back this time not overlooking the gardens on my visit last time.

Clean room. Had facilities to heat food brought.l and eat dinner.

Shower head wasn't detachable. No dinner provided. Only one pair of towels available for the third night of our stay. Pillow was too hard, gave me a painful neck the next day.

Swimming pool you had to walk across two car parks to get to it, my room was ground floor and would hear cars constantly driving, room wasn’t great and quite old, too warm, reception didn’t answer the phone on several occasions, bar area is very old, breakfast selection is terrible and not very good, hot breakfast is limited, overall I would not recommend the hotel, it seems run down and they have no intention of investing in it or have a level of care for the hotel at all

Short but bittersweet.

Its our 4th visit over the last 2 years. But probably our last :( Staff are lovely at check in and at the bar as always. They keep the hotel going. Beds are very comfortable.

For such a beautiful period building and gardens it's so disappointing to see how little care or investment from the owners is made. It's literally being left to rot. A dried out river bed surrounding a lovely slate bridge. Half fallen trees. Outdated interior paint and carpets. There's so much potential for it to be so much more. A fine gilded age property. Breakfast is tired and tasteless.

A tranquil spot for some peace and quiet from the busy side of Drogheda.

Possible to order food to the hotel and staff will provide you with utensils - if required. The 12pm checkout is also a bonus - especially in this part of the country where there's really no need to be rushing out. The grounds are quiet as well.

Lack of onsite food options - but, make of that what you will. It would be nice to have the extra food from breakfast available later in the day if it's going to be discarded and that way, for those who want a light meal they can buy or at least make it possible to make a packed lunch. Would definitely come back again though and explore and would recommend you visit.

Don't come here for the pool or gym

Soft clean bed

Check in from 4pm and when I arrived at 4:20 they told me pool and gym are closed and that they open at 8am. I went there at 8am but they told me it's 9. I booked this place for the gym and the pool and finally had like 1.5 hour window to visit. Totally not worth €200 a night. Lastly, a funny problem in Ireland, but the room was crazy hot. My room had floor to ceiling windows and by the time I came on a sunny day, the room was like 34 degrees. I had leave in room till 7:30pm and only then the sun was low enough I could open curtains and windows and get some fresh colder air in

Location is very good. Hotel is clean. Staff are very friendly and professional.

Hôtel is in dire need of a major refurbishment and renovation. Bar, breakfast room and common areas are very shabby and worn looking. Furniture is reminiscencent of a cheap bedsit. Lighting in bar was far too bright, more suited to a supermarket. Heating was on full blast in corridors, despite the fact it was a very warm evening in the middle of June. Room was clean but is also in need of a change of furniture and renovation.

The facilites and staff were amazing. We had a great time, one we'd like to repeat.

The breakfast was amazing! There was so much to choose from including smoothies, fruit, pasties cereal and a cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and attentive and we felt very comfortable and welcomed. They couldn't do enough for us. The reception and bar staff were also very kind and helpful to all. We didn't manage to see the spa as we had such a busy weekend, but other guests said how nice it was and we'll make use of it when we hopefully get to return. It was also very accessible and comfortable for older members I'd the family who had mobility issues. We all had a wonderful time.

I can't think if a single thing just wish I had more time to explore the gardens and visit the spa.

Disappointing

The garden was massive. The bed was comfy. Staff were accommodating in fairness.

The breakfast was sooooo sad. Very few selections and the food was COLD. Bar so lonely , too. No restaurant on site. The remote and dusty and the skirt boards in the room. We stayed for 2 nights didn't even bother freshening up the room when we came back after first day. Didn't throw rubbish, etc. honestly disappointed. Priced for 3 stars. Delivered 2 stars. Would not come back and would not recommend
