We stayed in the cave room, outside is much more expensive than it looks in the photos. We had our own terrace, which was private. The grounds were gorgeous with an olive tree and wonderful landscaping. The breakfast room was absolutely gorgeous and eloquent. The host was amazing, she cooked spinach for me apon request and offered to organize trips for us and gave us many suggestions on where to eat, and which wineries to go to. The bathtub was huge and fit two of us in it perfectly. It was more like a hot tub. The shampoo and conditioner was really nice quality as well. It felt like a high end Château.

It was truly the most charming place I’ve ever stayed. Elisa and Mathieu are exceptional hosts — warm, thoughtful, and incredibly welcoming. We initially planned to stay just one night, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay by two more nights. We had the best time. Their dog is the cutest ever, and made our stay even more special.
I would come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved this place! It was relaxed, informal, very well thought out and truly special. Our room was comfortable, beautifully decorated and presented - and spotlessly clean!
We enjoyed everything about our stay here - including the breakfasts which were delicious. We were very well looked after by the property's hosts who provided just the right amount of presence.
The town centre is just a 10 minute walk away, as are walks into the vineyards. It provides a great base for exploring the local wineries and the rest of the Loire valley.

The host was exceptionally friendly, and the place itself is charming, spotless, and perfectly located near nearby towns. The breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this place for an authentic experience.

It is hard to do justice to the beauty of Le Gaimont and the quality of stay you can expect.
From the moment we arrived we were treated like family by Matthieu and Elise. They have created a truly special place to stay in a beautiful part of France. Guests are free to make themselves at home, enjoying wine and food picked up on their travels and supplemented if needed by the reasonably priced honesty bar.
The grounds are stunning, with charming gardens throughout. There are nooks for quiet reflection or reading a book. You can also wander up to the vineyard above.
The pool is great, with lots of comfortable loungers and owing to the small number of rooms, plenty of privacy..
The interior decor is trés chic with great taste throughout. Our room was quiet, comfortable and cleaned everyday.
Breakfast is exceptional and the staff are so attentive, giving excellent recommendations for the surrounding area.
This is great for children, and our daughter had a wonderful time. The hotel dog, Vito, is a wonderful addition.
All in all, we had a wonderful visit and will certainly return. We were sad to leave.

The chateau was charming and authentic. The pool was divine, we were swimming at 10pm due to a heat wave. Elisa and Elizabetha were very lovely and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, best croissants ever!
No complaints at all. You will need a car here though!

This Maison is rustic and beautiful. It is old and authentic, but the spaces you use are gorgeous! We stayed in the Troglodyte room, in the rock face. It was well appointed, cool and very comfortable. We did not need air-conditioning despite the 30+ temperature as it is essentially a cave and beautifully insulated. The pool was great, the breakfast room and gardens are lovely settings. On top of this is the host, Elisa, who is perfectly charming and thoughtful. There is a lovely cocker spaniel, Vito. If you love dogs, you will love Vito. If you are not a dog person, he is placid and will not bother you. I cannot rate this property any better, just a delightful French experience.

Beautiful, old property with lovely gardens and pool in the captivating old town of Vouvray. Hosts were both as friendly, engaging and helpful as we could ask for. Would return to this place without hesitation. Breakfasts were superb with local pastries, cheese, perfectly cooked eggs and decent coffee. We even loved their playful young dog.
awkward shower in our room, but only because my son and I are very tall.

Very little to dislike but absence of any food on site ( except a very good breakfast) or nearby shops in walking distance a nuisance. Very interesting garden. External stone steps to outside rooms a challenge. We will return

Elisa and Mathieu were go gracious as hosts, always there with an answer about where to go or what to see. They really made our stay a pleasure. The breakfast was wonderful and a perfect way to start each day. I loved the appointments of the rooms (bath products were amazing), coffee and tea of quality at the ready and the in-room water service was charmingly displayed. We also loved the location being outside of Tours in a smaller town but could easily access places we wanted to go. There was plenty to do within a short drive.
Parking for a larger car was a bit tight, so travelers should note that before arriving.

Mathieu & Elisa went over and above to make sure our stay in the absolutely stunning Le Gaimont Maison d'Hôtes Vouvray was exceptional both for me and my partner.

We left with the impression of having stayed in a friend’s home. Mathieu was attentive and intuitive to our needs ; be it a glass of local wine or advise. Looking foward to getting back again soon.
One of the rooms had a blocked/sealed window.

The hospitality was warm and welcoming. We stayed in one of the 'cave' rooms with a private seated area outside. The room was beautifully cool during this very hot week.
There was a good sized swimming pool , with plenty of comfortable seating pool in the shade or sun.
The gardens are a delight - the planting and variety was inspirational.

The property was absolutely gorgeous! So much character and so peaceful - it was almost sad to leave each day to go sightsee! The host was so nice and thoughtful as well and went above and beyond for us.

Breakfast was fantastic! Elisa provided a beautiful variety of things for breakfast and cooked our eggs to order each morning! She helped us with dinner reservations nearby and in Tours. She helped us with our luggage upon arrival and departure. Also, the parking was great and I liked the security of the gated property. The hike up the hillside to the vineyards was a fun and beautiful adventure! The mystique of the old limestone caves where we had our room and had breakfast added to the experience. We felt the history of the place, but the accomodations felt clean & comfortable.
Nothing...it was just perfect. Nice escape from the generic hotel experience.

I stayed here with my wife and daughter. We had a very friendly greeting by Elisa and we were offered local sparkling wine. The place is amazing, the large county French house (like a small chateau) which is divided into more historic section (dating back to 18th century) and the newer section. Our rooms were in the newer section. When you walk up the steps there is a winery up above the residence. Rooms were large and comfortable with large bathroom (which us Americans enjoy). When we arrived it was around 8:30 pm and did not know any local restaurants. Elisa to the rescue, she recommended a local French restaurant and made all the reservations. Wonderful dinner and atmosphere. We woke up in the morning to chirping birds and smell of fresh countryside. The breakfast room is the historic section of the house and Elisa greeted us there with a very nice breakfast table. She made us our custom scrambled eggs in addition to all the traditional French breakfast offerings. After we spend the day exploring nearby local Loire Valley towns (Amboise, Bloir, Tours, etc) along with Chateau Chananceau, we came back before dinner. We were again greeted this time with Elisa and Matthew with local wine. We went to local recommended French restaurant and left in the morning after breakfast. If you want to have French countryside experience in proximity to attractions (Chateaus, local towns) then this is the place. Elisa and Matthew are very nice hosts.
Nothing really comes to my mind.

This place was amazing.
1. The hosts are incredibly nice and welcoming. At times. We sat and talked for minutes or hours. They helped us get great reservations at local places with amazing service and food. They provided a traditional French breakfast and went out of their way to serve anything we asked.
2. The housing was so cool. This very historic place is very different to a chain hotel and was awesome to stay at. It was a really neat experience.
3. The location was awesome! It was quiet and relaxing yet close to any of the local attractions like chambord, chenenceau, or tours.
I can't say anything bad about the hosts or location. Mother nature threatened us but obviously that is not controllable.
