Onyado Tsutaya

The hotel was very clean and comfy. I was in the annex and the onsen was in the main building, but going between was really easy. The onsen was really nice too, lovely and clean just like everything. The location is also quite good - 15min from the station just at the edge of old town and next to the river. All the main sights are very close by. I didn't meet the staff much but anytime I did they were lovely and on my way out even though I was in a hurry for the train, they quickly did the little send off ceremony with flint and steel without delaying me, which was lovely. He was trying to give me helpful advice but I really had no time, so I'm sorry that I had to cut him off. I'd stay there again.

I really don't understand the whole duvet in the summer thing but that's true for the whole of Japan, not just this hotel. I wish they offered blankets for the people that don't want to sleep in a freezer. I'm throwing this in here in case it makes a difference.

Onyado Tsutaya is a very nice traditional hotel, with nice furnishing and atmosphere. The "Shogun Dinner" was a bit pricey but very good.

My room was located in a new building across the street, which necessitated going back and forth.

Very unique and wonderful place to stay! They have an onsen and it was a beautiful large room with very cozy beds. We quite enjoyed our stay here! Customer service was top notch!
