Central location Lovely hosts Quirky if you like antiques

No thermostat in the accommodation for the heating. It must be controlled by the owner upstairs. It was really cold getting out of bed. Smelt a bit musty due to the large volume of antiques.

Fantastic place, brilliant host, and lovely home-baked goods!

Homemade bread, carrotcake, marmalade, eggs, butter, and milk was provided on arrival. Penny was a lovely host and very polite and allowed us a late checkout with no issues. Apartment very clean, has everything you need and very comfortable. We will be back!

The location is good as a base. The area has some beautiful countryside, pubs and restaurants. Local people are very friendly too.

Quirky flat, with uncomfortable sofa.

The flat is actually above a florist as the antique shop has moved location. Hosts are welcoming and friendly. Bread, eggs, jam and milk were provided and appreciated, a nice touch. The amenities are good, kitchen has all you need. Bathroom is fine with a spacious shower.

The lounge furniture is very uncomfortable, the sofa particularly so. Traffic noise cannot be helped as the property is on the main A road through Kirkby Stephen. The antiques throughout the apartment are interesting, but must make it difficult to clean as there was a little dust here and there. Overall its a quirky place, centrally located, ok for a weekend away.

Beautiful, comfortable apartment, wonderfully hosted!

A beautiful, intriguing and very comfortable apartment. Loved the fresh baked bread, flapjacks, eggs and 'fridge supplies' to help us settle in. So many fascinating antique things and objects to ponder on, and such a lovely space to just chill. A stones throw from a stunning riverside walk and a short trip to Pendragon castle and all the wild places of the Dales and Cumbria. Penny and her gorgeous dogs are wonderful hosts. Highly recommend.

Enjoyable weekend in a lovely, quirky apartment.

We had a lovely warm welcome and the owner had left some extras e.g. bread, milk etc. The apartment was extremely clean and furnished with some very quirky and interesting accessories. It was centrally located and parking was close by.

The apartment was a little cold in the evening, particularly when taking a shower. I think the snow and hail took us all by surprise.

Heavenly Haven in Kirkby Stephen!

Everything! Awesome location, great apartment, books galore to read and antiques/nicnacs to explore. Lovel treats left for us. Fabulous place to recover and relax after a week's hike. The most lovely Landladt, Penny, with gorgeous Furfriends, Bertie and Bob!

Nothing significant - double bed would have been nice, but didn't detract from the lovely experience.

Fantastic apartment

A fantastically unusual and cosy apartment and lovely hosts. We picked this mainly for the location but loved the look of the place. When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and loved the little touches, leaving us some baked bread, eggs, milk etc. It was like a little home from home and the place was spotlessly clean. I really can’t recommend it highly enough.

Vintage, cosy and close to local amenities this place is perfect for a cosy weekend stay.

Everything was amazing, location is spot on right in the centre of everything. The owners were amazing and so friendly, gave us slices of delicious cake, a little loaf of bread, jam and butter and a little carton of milk in the fridge ready for our arrival.

The location was super, straight out onto Street. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, everything was wonderful, the apartment was very clean & comfortable, the kitchen area had everything that was needed for cooking, nice crockery & glasses, super shower in Bathroom, very spacious bedroom. The apartment was quiet even though it was on the High Street. Penny & Paul who own the apartment was such a lovely couple, so helpful & friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them, The goodies they left us put the icing on the cake, lovely bread, milk, eggs & yummy home made jam. Thank you.

Lovely apartment and hosts - well worth a stay.

Very friendly and hospitable hosts, who really looked after us. Interesting artifacts in the flat. Extremely well positioned accommodation. On the C2C route. Great shower, and well stocked kitchen.

This was nothing to to with the hosts or the flat: both of these aspects were very good. Kirkby Stephen has an abundance of places to eat - unfortunately they were not very accommodating in terms of food varieties (very traditional pub food) and stopped serving by 9pm.

A place to stay like no other. Go on, treat yourself.

The location was perfect for exploring the town and the east Cumbria area. The host was friendly and welcoming. Complimentary tea, coffee and assorted "basics", including homemade bread provided, which was lovely. The apartment was full of wonders, antiques and curios. Quite simply, it was a joy to stay here. Well worth the price we paid.
