We thoroughly enjoyed our short break visiting places we have often driven past, on the way to the North East, but never stopped to view. This is a wonderfully quirky well designed apartment providing an excellent and comfortable base for our visit. Added to that was brilliant hospitality from a charming couple.
We enjoyed some gentle town and country walks in Kirkby Stephen, Brough Castle (with fabulous ice cream) Barnard Castle and Appleby. Achieved an ambition to get some fantastic fish and chips in Kirkby Stephen and was generally able to relax.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
There was nothing we didn't really like. Was a great visit.

The location is good as a base. The area has some beautiful countryside, pubs and restaurants. Local people are very friendly too.
The apartment is like an antique shop, it's like living in a house clearance.
