Holmvik Brygge Nyksund

Very unusual place situated way off the beaten track. The little harbour is very interesting and there are delightful walks nearby. The property is full of old curiosities and explains the history of the village. Nesting Kittiwakes are noisy neighbours! The staff were very welcoming.

Breakfast was Ok but nothing special. Access road was 9km of bad potholes. Driving slowly and carefully is a must!

We were given the wrong room. The room we were given was the size of a walk-in closet.

Unfortunately, we were given a different room than what we reserved. Based on the email received from booking.com on 1/23/2025, we reserved a room with the following description: “Guests will have a special experience as this double room offers a sauna. The well-fitted kitchen features a stovetop, a refrigerator, a dishwasher and kitchenware. This double room has a desk, a patio, sea views and a private bathroom. The unit has 1 bed.” The room we were given was clean, but it was tiny; it was literally 6‘ x 7‘, and the double bed took up nearly the entire room. There was no desk, no sauna, and no patio. The kitchen was shared with several other guests. Once we saw the room, we asked for the room we reserved, but we were told there were no other rooms available. We attempted to contact booking.com, but we’re not able to reach a booking.com representative. Since we were given the wrong room, we decided not to stay for a second night. We attempted to contact booking.com, but we’re not able to reach a booking.com representative. Since we were given such a tiny room, rather than the deluxe double room we reserved, I would like to request a refund. Please refund the entire amount of the second night and half of the first night. Once again, the room we were given was clean, but it was tiny. It did not have a desk, patio or private kitchen. we booked 2 rooms for the 3 of us which was the right decision. The bunk in the double room could have accommodated 3 but that would have been horribly cramped

Holmvik Brygge is a true gem in Nyksund. Full of charm and old artefacts from bygone times. All kept as original as possible. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Comfy beds. Nice and clean all over. Lovely buffet breakfast which also catered towards gluten and lactose free food. Thank you for that. Nyksund itself has an interesting and unusual history and is a place well worth visiting. The rocky mountains and spectacular scenery surrounding Nyksund is also great for hiking.

The last bit of road leading to Nyksund isn't the best but no big deal as long as you drive slowly. A campaign to improve the road is already in motion.

I enjoyed the cosiness and remoteness of the village and this accommodation. It was rough by nature but welcoming at the same time. A great place to enjoy the sea and fresh air.

Excellent location in the middle of Nyksund. All was good. Rather new apartment with a feel of Norwegian cabin. Spacious and adequate at OK price.

Rather narrow bed for two.

Very unique and interesting place to stay. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The spiral wooden stairs to 2nd floor are steep and narrow.
