Hostel Universus

Amazing and cozy place with a lovely host. The room, the showers and the kitchen were all clean, no smell, really a homie feeling. The beds were ok, the bedding was really clean and no 'hostel' smell. The kitchen had cups with tea and coffee and a small fridge to keep things. The view from the dining room/kitchen was just to the Gates, creating a cozy feeling. Showers and toilets were impressivly clean and well functioning. All in all I can totally recommend a girls room for a few nights

As others mentioned, there are some bars around the corner, plus the road is brick, which can be noisy. Bring good earplugs

The location was wonderful. Near to the center.

The personal staff took too long to respond on WhatsApp, which was the main contact method, and their replies were unpleasant. It was also difficult to find a hair dryer.

Lousy customer service. I booked an upgrade, didn't get it, and when I asked about it, Joanna threatened to terminate my stay! Didn't get my upgrade and didn't get a refund. Very slow to answer on WhatsApp and Booking.com. Cleaning could be done more often: flooded shower, full and stinky trash cans, dirty floor in dorm. After cleaning it looks great though, so maybe just one more time per week.
