Unique property in a pretty little village. Excellent communication, fabulous breakfast and a very welcoming and friendly host.

Although close to the main road, which we could see, it was still quiet. Four poster bed was excellent for comfort and the owners were very helpful. It was warm and clean - important in January!

The host was very welcoming and the bed was comfortable, so I slept well. Breakfast was good, and the additional radiator in the room was appreciated.
The location was fine overall, though it is close to busy roads and traffic noise was noticeable even with shutters and curtains closed.
Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi wasn’t working, which was difficult as I needed it for work and had to rely on a mobile hotspot. The room itself felt quite dated and would benefit from some modernisation.
Overall, suitable for a one-night stay, but some improvements would enhance the experience.

The warmth of welcome, attention to detail and willingness to do all they could for us. The breakfasts were great. Also, great to be staying among all the highly recognised artistic work of our hostess.
The shower, ok but ... not the best!!! Having to step over the side of a bath difficult for some.

The property was cold and dusty …. The room had draughts and a gap under the main door into room , reasons why it was so cold … small heater in room … but no radiators on when we arrived

Lovely rejuvenated early 18th century building. Warm welcome from the owner. Tastefully decorated, featuring many sculptures by the artist wife of the partnership and including a gallery of works by local artists and creators. Parking easy, inside the gates or on the road immediately outside. Location good, near to many places to visit.
Sadly, this NYE week was freezing around the Wye Valley area and the central heating came on at odd times - 5.30 am (when the owner got up to prepare for his busy day) and off at 8.30 (when we got up, having a few days' break to avoid loud fireworks around our home in Bristol). The evening period switched off at 8 pm! An oil-fired heater was provided, which stopped us freezing, but they don't really warm up a room. When I mentioned the cold room to the owner, he said we could have left the heater on all the time. Knowing the forecast, he should have told us at the beginning not as we were leaving, a day early. I don't like to sit in bed wrapped up to watch evening TV, but until we asked there was only 1 chair. The wi-fi is not brilliant, limiting viewing options and access to others on a laptop. Perhaps Booking.com should have grades for wi-fi quality - high quality won't be needed by all, but we had hoped for it.

Private access. Very quiet considering it was so near to a busy road. Had all the amenities you needed for a really comfortable stay.
WiFi was not working but we were told about this on arrival. It didn’t really bother us that much. We also thought it would have been much nearer to pubs/restaurants/takeaways than it was.

Craig was incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was cosy and warm, bed very comfortable and I very much enjoyed a really hot bath. Breakfast was delicious, and the kettle in the room was a welcome addition. Short walk to a lovely pub where they squeezed us in for a drink and some food despite being really busy. Being right next to the main road isn't ideal but the noise didn't disturb us (and I'm very sensitive!)

This is a brilliant cottage, which is very conveniently located near the A40 between Monmouth and Ross on Wye. The cottage is very spacious, with a very generous open plan kitchen/dinner/lounge.
The host, Craig, communicated very well before we arrived and made us feel at home when we arrived.
The cottage was well equipped for cooking, although we didn't really make use of that facility.
The A40 is only about 150m from the cottage, but we couldn't hear it at all.
Whitchurch is only small, but Woods of Whitchurch is an excellent little village store and restaurant and is an essential stop in the village.

Great full English breakfast. Very friendly owners
An old building so a little cold even though the radiator was on - but wouldn’t stop us staying again

Very quaint place to stay with a great breakfast. Loved meeting the hosts who were very friendly
Our room was at the top of very steep stairs so you need to be prepared if you have big heavy bags

Location and Easy parking.
Good breakfast and pleasant service
The initial welcome was dreadful. The hostess had an air of indifference and seemed not to care.
Room was cold, shower broken, toilet didn’t flush. Although they had an on site cafe they were not willing to serve tea and cake early evening.

Road noise from the busy dual carriage way, however I am a light sleeper

Everything. I live in a little village so love to be in a similar setting. You should promote the tea room and gallery for sure!
Would have liked to have a bottle of water in the room. Never sure about drinking tap water in places I don’t know.

The breakfast was excellent. Craig was really helpful, friendly and personable. The room was comfortable, really clean and had everything I needed. The same applies to the bathroom.
The location means that there is some road noise in the room I occupied at the front of the building.

Very expensive. Disappointed that breakfast wasn’t included for the price we paid to stay here.

On arrival at the B&B we were delighted by the wire sculptures of birds and animals in the garden around the car park and then a little gallery inside with some beautiful art. Craig greeted us on arrival and took us to our room. The location was great for our visit to the Wye Valley for the weekend. On the whole, the room, bathroom and separate toilet was very clean, the temperature was good and the bedding smelled lovely. We were room only so can't comment on the breakfast as we headed to Monmouth early for a walk before it was too hot.
We had a twin room on the top floor. The wooden beds were extremely creaky and the mattresses were lacking in any support so we didn't really sleep much at all. When one of us moved, it woke the other up. There were quite a few cobwebs hanging from the ceilings in the room and bathroom.

Lovely old house, very welcoming and Craig was extremely friendly and informative.
The beds were rather creaky, but they were original so not surprising and not a big problem.

Gluten free English breakfast including sausages with multi-grain gluten-free toast and tasty orange juice with bits! Flexible with cooked breakfast menu options. Friendly host. Comfortable room/beds and host was really helpful providing a fan on a stand for hot weather.
2nd floor room had a small toilet cubicle on its own and a separate bathroom (bath and basin in the latter with a curtain rather than a door to the bathroom). Some guests may find the steps to the 2nd floor steep, but it's an old, characterful building and has handrails.

Well rounded and good value for money stay. It was a 20 minute walk from all the activity centres in Symmomds Yat West. Service was great!
Nothing - was a nice charming place and good value!
