The best thing about the Commodore, in my opinion, was that it was across the road from one of the best beaches I have ever been to. The beach is a long way down but had a lift so that we could get back up easily. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast choices were good. The pool table gave us something to do in the evening. The staff were mostly pleasant enough and fairly helpful in the main. The parking was available for my disabled husband shortly after we had arrived. We parked in a side street for a while. The internet was fairly good. The lift, although small, was very helpful. The supply of toiletries, towels and tea and coffee was nice.

I didn't like the fact that the maintenance of the room we were in was quite poor. For example a radiator had been removed and the wall behind it was so badly repaired and decorated. Also, the windowsill paint was peeling down to the bare wood. The shower wasn't very powerful and changed temperature during showering. It would be good to have some bottled water in the room. Our room was right next to the lift and the noise of it woke us up earlier than we would have liked in the morning and continued beeping every few minutes. Also, the noise of people going up and down the stairs disturbed our sleep until fairly late at night. I didn't like the policy regarding the food intolerance. A member of staff asked a family member of mine to fill out a form and sign in relation to cross contamination. I think this is unacceptable as we were in holiday, hoping to get away from bureaucracy. A better way might be in booking to ensure guests sign then.
