We have used the hotel quite a bit over the years, but it was starting to look shabby (with age).
Now after a refurbishment, and change of menus, it is back to being able good place to stay.
Paying extra to use the hotel's own carpark.. Bit of a rip off.

Central location, lovley original features, big spacious room, car park and friendly staff and dog friendly and lovley little welcome pack
The amount of dog hair , hoover didn't seem to pick it up, only 1 drinks machine at breakfast .
Lovely big bed but was very lumpy and uncomfortable and the pillows were not great , gave me bad shoulder pain, no pen or paper in room or little things like shower cap etc
We were in dog friendly room but runner on bed was full of hair and dog bed was full of previous dog hair so we didn't use as we took our own anyway.

Breakfast was not good left to long on hotplate hard bacon black pudding
All of it . Rooms need refurbishment and a good clean
