Excellent central location on the main shopping thoroughfare, halfway between the Hauptbahnhof and the Rathaus.
Very friendly welcome from the proprietor Mr Hlatky.
Exceptionally good, tasty, varied and well-presented breakfast (included in our booking price too!)
Extremely interesting artwork on the walls of both the public areas and bedrooms, apparently painted/created by Mr Hlatky's wife (whom we didn't meet on this occasion but would like to next time!) - this gave the whole hotel a distinctive and homely character.
We were in single rooms were on the north side of the corridor, and were a little jealous of the double rooms on the south side of the corridor which looked as if they had been refurbished, with smarter plusher carpets - perhaps the north side rooms will also be refurbished in due course. (Room 12 - my friend's room - had no carpet at all, just lino...but that appeared to be a one-off.)
Shame there were no bananas available at breakfast.
The hotel's publicity pictures on the booking.com website were perhaps a little misleading - they had led me to imagine that the hotel was larger than it was and that it fronted onto the river, which it did not. The bedrooms featured in the publicity photos were definitely amongst the smartest ones rather than wholly representative of the rooms as a whole.

It was clean and the location was very central although difficult to find when we first arrived after a very long drive. The breakfast was good
