A perfect choice

The hotel was right at the beginning of the long pedestrian market street that led to the historic center. All the sights were within a fifteen minute walk. From the main train station you could get there in five minutes by trams 22, 23, 24 and many other choices. The breakfast was just perfect!! The hotel was fully renovated and clean.

location is right in the heart of Heidelberg.

Parking off-site in a parking garage nearby which we had to pre-book and pay. Thats a FIRST for Germany :-( Bed was not comfortable and blankets very thin. Poor sleep quality.

Fabulous hotel, great staff

Brilliant location - despite being as only a short distance from the main shopping street, our room was very quiet. We were also given an upgrade, to a wonderful big room, and it seemed the hotel and rooms had just been newly re-furbished. The breakfast buffet was superb - fantastic range of foods and I think they would cook you hot egg dishes if you asked. The breakfast staff - indeed all the staff - were lovely, and spoke excellent English. Especial thanks to receptionist Jenny who was so kind and helpful to us. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel - however if you’re disabled, check first because some parts of the hotel don’t have lift access.

Nothing except that if you’re disabled or have heavy luggage, note that there may be no lifts to help you get to your room.

Nice place to stay

- Large choice at breakfast, tasty and well set. - if you need a kettle in the room you can ask for one - I appreciated air con, air con is necessary in spring/summer - I'm sensitive to noise and I find the building was quiet (except bathroom ventilation). You don't hear much neighbours, or the street noise. Room was soundproof. - it's in the city center, next to transportation facilities, in a small street. - staff is nice and helpful - very clean

- no fridge in the room, no spoon. There is espresso machine. (I had superior single room) - only a bottle of soap hair/body is provided in the shower. No conditioner, no samples, no body cream. - slippers and bathrobe only provided in male size. I asked for a female size (smaller size) but they only have one size. I told them that would be better to provide female size too, as yes, there are females in this world, too. - the ventilation of the bathroom is noisy. I finally avoid switching on ceiling lamp of bathroom, to avoid it to be turned on. I used an external lamp instead. - only one receptionist, and reception is closed at night. - not much of tourism information - no phone in the room to call the reception - As it's in city center, the hotel is quite small. No lounge room, or place to relax, no garden. There are some armchairs in the lobby, and a smoking area.

I never score 10 but I did here!

Well located in a side street just off the Bismarckplatz transport hub with easy access to the shopping centre and the old town. Regular buses and trams to the railway station. Despite this it is quiet at night. My room was large and comfortable, the staff were friendly and the choice at breakfast was excellent.

Comfortable small room. Wonderful shower. Amazing breakfast! Very good value for money (on last minute deal for only 65 euro; I would not pay the 'normal' price of 135 euro for such a small room).

Prima hotel voor een bezoek aan Heidelberg

De dame van de receptie was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze werkte de avond dat wij kwamen alleen, maar ondanks de drukte, beantwoorden zij de vragen heel vriendelijk. Zij kwam zelfs het bed van onze zoon opmaken, toen bleek dat die nog niet gereed was.

Eigenlijk niets. Het is een prima hotel in het centrum van de oude stad. Een mooie plek waar om te verblijven tijdens het bezoek aan Heidelberg. Op de website staat goed aangegeven dat zij geen eigen parkeerplek hebben. Er is een prima parkeergarage om de hoek, waar je tegen gereduceerd tarief mag parkeren.

Es war ein superschöner Wochenendausflug nach Heidelberg und das Hotel Goldene Rose war die richtige Entscheidung - Top Lage, das Zimmer geräumig, sauber, moderne Einrichtung, bequeme Betten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und kompetent. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist der Hammer....alles mit so viel Liebe angerichtet und warme Eierspeisen wurden auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet.....nachdem wir ein Foto davon an Freunde geschickt hatten, kam als Antwort: Ich dachte, ihr seid in Heidelberg, aber Ihr seid ja im Schlaraffenland 😀.....genau so war es!

Trotz mehrfacher Reklamation wurde der Fernseher nicht repariert. Das Zimmermädchen kam teilweise erst 17 Uhr, definitiv zu spät. Dann wurde das Zimmer halt nicht sauber 😒

Schöner Aufenthalt, aber nicht 'superior'

Die Lage direkt in der Fußgängerzone ist super. Das Frühstück ist vielfältig und lecker, der Service zuvorkommend. Im Doppelzimmer hatten wir einen riesigen Fernseher.

Wir hatten extra das Superior-Doppelzimmer gebucht, aber das DZ war nicht superior: ein Stuhl für zwei Personen, kein Kühlschrank, keine Haken an den Wänden, wenig Platz ... nur der Riesenfernseher. Unser zweites Zimmer, das Einzelzimmer, war fast genauso groß, dafür ließ der Zimmersevice das Fenster bei Kälte gekippt. Die 24-Stunden-Rezeption war ab 18, 19 Uhr verlassen. Alles ziemlich anonym.

Zentral, groß, sauber und sehr freundlich.

Das Zimmer war sehr groß, sauber, das Badezimmer hervorragend ausgestattet, und das Frühstück sehr schön angerichtet, reichhaltig und lecker. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, das Hotel ist direkt in der City mit Anbindung an öffentlichen Nahverkehr und Parkmöglichkeiten sind direkt um die Ecke. Insgesamt waren wir vom Checkin bis zur Abreise sehr zufrieden und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Zimmer 29, liegt direkt über dem Frühstücksraum und wenn man etwas länger schlafen möchte, dann kann es passieren, dass die Geräuschkulisse etwas erhöht ist. Das ist aber nicht negativ gemeint, denn der Aufenthalt war hervorragend.

Heidelberg ist eine tolle Stadt und mit dieser Unterkunft war es ein perfekter Aufenthalt.

Das Frühstück war der Hammer, die Auswahl war großartig und auf Extrawünsche ist man eingegangen. Schön wäre, wenn es direkte Parkplätze geben würde, aber das Parkhaus war auch ok.
