Montparnasse Daguerre

We liked that the location was largely residential and there were many nice places to eat steps from the door. It was clean and the rooms were larger than the other cramped hotel we stayed in earlier in Paris. We thought the paid breakfast at the hotel was a good value.

Some staff were friendly, while others were not so much. The elevator was quite small (but that was to be expected in Paris).

Well located hotel in Montparnasse.

Tiny lift and in between levels so you need to walk up ore down half a level.

Convenient location, close enough to historical places and various types of transport. Rue Daguerre is a bit busy and noisy, but the hotel is at the end of the street and it is quieter there. A lot of places to eat and little shops of all kinds.

There is a very small lift in the hotel and you need to go up or down the stairs to get to the lift. It can be a problem if you have a lot of luggage and not strong enough to carry it on the stairs. The breakfast costs £13 and includes enough of various types of food except a cooked one like an omelette. There is a temptation to go to a local cafe but there are only a few that open early enough and serve breakfast. At least, we were not able to find such cafe near the hotel. You can buy a really nice fresh pastry, but there is no kettle in the room to have a cup of tea or coffee with this pastry:)

Great location. Decent a/c.

Very poorly maintained room with plaster falling off wall and damaged toilet seat. Lift serves floors 1 - 5 only. We were on the 6th with heavy cases.
