Hi: Shortly after I checked into (early!) McSweeney Arms, I realized my iPhone was missing. Long story short, I had left it in the private car transport that had delivered me to the hotel. I cannot begin to thank and praise McSweeney staff members Alice Mary, Laura, Zita, and Mary for professionally and positively keeping me calm, helping me track its location (including alerting Garda, who eventually delivered it to the hotel!). Since I had locked the phone and couldn't unlock it without getting a code verification from Apple on another iPhone, Mary, the last staff member mentioned, lent me hers to make that happen. McSweeney owners: I don't know if it's your method of employee training, or that you simply know how to hire outstanding people to handle guest registration and check in, but every staff member I mentioned here deserves high praise for helping me get through this mishap and getting my phone back and working without having to wait until I returned to the US.
This stated, if you book a stay at McSweeney Arms, rest assured you will receive the best service, beyond any expectations you might have or need, during your stay.
PS: I didn't get her name, but the black haired woman who works the breakfast service is another outstanding employee.

The location was perfect, just nearby nice pubs and restaurants. The lady at the desk was very kind and welcoming, and although the pub is located in the city centre, it was very quiet at night.

No parking facilities
Room was too hot no air con but fan didn’t keep cool

Can’t fault the cleaning one bit, everything was spotless. Staff, especially the lady in reception was a very kind and helpful lady. Felt very safe and secure, as when returning to the hotel late, a bouncer was monitoring who was staying. Considering it is close to the town centre it was very quiet.
Breakfast was very tasty, however the full Irish breakfast could have had a little more on the plate. Lighting was a little poor in the room but that was probably because we were facing a wall.

The location was perfect, right in the center of town. The breakfast was great, plenty of options and everything was delicious. The staff were wonderful! So generous and friendly. The fan in the room was great, such a great touch.
I thought the price I paid was high. It just might have been since it was a little last minute.

Very hot room-but that’s how every room has been in this heat wave.

The hotel location is excellent, close the everything in central Killarney. The staff at check-in and throughout our stay were fabulous; polite and helpful. As we checked out, "Mister" McSweeney came over and introduced himself, and gave us a few bottles of water, to help with the heat outside. Overall, this was a very positive hotel experience, and I'd have no hesitation in recommending.

Great location downtown Killarney! Right in the center of all the action! Cute, well attended hotel. Awesome staff and excellent breakfast too! We loved it!
Always nice to have AC as an option, but we didn't need it and they also provided fans in the room. Parking was in a ramp a little ways from the hotel, which was not a problem for us, but could pose problems for older or disabled visitors.

The staff were very friendly and lovely. The bed was very comfortable. Has an pub/restaurant at the ground floor which is handy
You can hear the doors when they are opening and closing, sometimes even steps

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was absolutely not soundproof — I could hear every footstep, the constant noise from a Exhaust fan right outside of the only window of my room, and worst of all, shouting and door-slamming from the room next door.
From 1 a.m. to after 4 a.m., the guests next door were screaming, slamming doors multiple times, and even seemed to be physically assaulting the girl with him. I was waken up at 1 am and security didn’t intervene until about 2 am. After a while the guy started yelling and slamming doors again and waked me up again at about 3:00 am. It was terrifying and completely unacceptable. The hotel staff only intervened once and then did nothing, even though the noise continued for hours. I didn’t sleep at all that night, which completely ruined my next day.
What made things even more infuriating was the staff’s attitude — no one apologized until I complained, and even then, the apology felt insincere and dismissive. They asked me how was my stay in the morning when I check out as if they didn’t know what was going on at the night. Seriously? There was no sense of responsibility or concern for how badly this affected my stay.
This place clearly has zero respect for guest comfort or safety. I’m extremely disappointed and angry. I would never stay here again, and I strongly urge others to think twice before booking.

Great location. Very nice staff. Good breakfast.
Bedroom was very dated. Bath/Shower with shower curtain. No mixer taps in sink. Noisy extract fan.

Great Location super nice staff and a special mention to Kate she went above and beyond and had a great personality but so did all the staff. Breakfast was well worth having and was cooked to order and so fresh
The floors are very creaky when walking around room and hallway but other than that nothing negative to say

Central location was perfect. Great staff and great breakfast.
The charging sockets in the room were a bit difficult to figure out. They seemed to activate my turning on a light switch. Bit weird but it was fine

Really enjoyed our five-night stay at the family-owned and family-run McSweeney Arms Hotel. We stayed in Killarney as a base for day trips to Killarney National Park, Gap of Dunloe, Ring of Kerry, and Dingle. We decided to not drive in Ireland and the location of the hotel was super convenient to the train and bus stations for our day trips and to the meet-up spots for our day tours. The hotel was also in a nice part of town that was super convenient to restaurants, pubs, music, shops, etc. It was great to spend the day exploring, return back to the hotel for a quick break, and then easily go out for an evening of dinner, music, or walking around downtown Killarney with a cone of Murphy's ice cream. The hotel was well-kept with the reception area fresh and updated. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. We slept well. Breakfast every morning was delicious, freshly cooked, and plentiful with a wide variety of options to choose from. I enjoyed the full Irish breakfast and my daughter loved the French toast and the porridge. The staff members were all friendly and helpful. After we moved on to Galway, we discovered that we had left my daughter's rain jacket and they even tried to see if they could mail it to us! McSweeney's is not a super fancy luxury corporate hotel and that's a good thing (at least to me). It's Irish family-owned and family-run so feels warmer, more personable, and is a good value for the money. If we ever make it back to Killarney, would be glad to stay there again!
Nothing. Even the weather was amazing and sunny the week we were there (mid-April).

I liked everything about this hotel.Very clean ,central location. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The breakfast was fantastic. And we had food in the bar one evening, and it was also very nice.
The only negative was that our room was a small double room and was very warm .There was a fan there in the room that we used .If you dont mind leaving a fan on at night, that shouldn't be a problem. Other than that, I can't fault this hotel.

Central location. Great staff! Wonderful breakfast! Hotel’s Pub and restaurant right next door.
Top floor a little warm, but kept drapes mostly closed and ran the fan to cool room.
