Wonderful, delightful place to stay.

The whole feel of the accommodation was welcoming and cosy, with the added bonus of a lovely family running the place! From the moment we arrived, Jamie went out of his way to make sure we had all we needed for a great stay. Giving ideas and links to lovely places to visit too. We couldn't have asked for more on our short trip to Inverness!

5 star stay at Doric house

Location was brilliant, Jamie our host was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. He was also accomodating with a few requests we had. Room was clean and tidy, bathroom also very clean and shower was nice too. Having a good chat with Jamie at breakfast (which was also a really lovely spread) where he offered us lots of great advice about places to visit and general history of Inverness and Scotland.

My only complaint is that the bed was a little too soft for my liking but thats not even really a complaint.

Great option for Inverness!

Our host Jamie was great and full of ideas for what to do. The room was fine and the bed was comfy. We managed to see dolphins at the spot he recommended, which was unexpected but great.

Stay at Doric House

There must be a reason why we keep coming back to stay at Doric House. 1. Amazing hospitality and Friendly host 2. Clean rooms and shower (water pressure is great) 3. Convenient to every where we want to be around Inverness 4. Host, Jaime is like a Scottish Encyclopedia and have I mentioned an amazing person

Excellent small B&B with superb hosts.

Lovely small B&B. Close to the centre. The hosts Jamie and Heather were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. Breakfast was continental but more than adequate for our needs.

Although the location was close to the centre and all amenities, there is a fairly steep hill coming back to the property, so if you struggle with walking you would need a taxi back. The shopping centre has an escalator and lift which when open makes it easier to get back as it by passes the steepest part of the hill. Despite this, we would highly recommend this B&B and would definitely stay there again.

A very relaxing stay with perfect hosts.

Location was excellent for our needs. Continental breakfast included everything we could wish for and served in a very relaxed atmosphere. Street car parking proved not to be a problem.

A mirror in the bedroom would have been appreciated.

If I would come back to Inverness I will stay with Heather and Jamie again.

Jamie and Heather were so welcoming! I drove from Fort Williams in heavy storm. I called them ahead and Jamie told me just drive safely and no worries. Arrived just before 9 pm. Jamie was so kind and took over my car. Find parking for me close by their lovely Doric House. Heather was very accommodating. She showed and explained me everything regarding to lovely Doric House. My room with bathroom was cozy, clean and heated. I appreciated to have hot chocolate and cookies in the room. Breakfast was rich and tasty. I really liked their coffee machine. They both were very helpful to advise on one day trips in Inverness and around. I value their kindness and hospitality.

I stayed 5 nights. There was nothing that I would not like it!

A home away from home with friendly and attentive hosts in a convenient location.

Everything. It genuinely felt like a home away from home. Heather and Jamie were SO welcoming and friendly and paid enough attention but didn’t feel overbearing. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve had outside of my own home and I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend to someone else.

Comfy, convenient, well-fed!

Jamie and Heather were great hosts and kept the place very clean and pleasant. Breakfast spread daily were great. Superb location as well. Bonus was Jamie’s knowledge of the area as an experienced guide! Would 100% recommend and return, next time to book a tour with him! Thank you both for the lovely stay!

Fantastic location, lovely hosts!

I truly can't fault my stay here! The location was perfect, Jamie (& his lovely family - Heather and kids) were the perfect hosts, and we had everything we needed for the whole stay. Breakfast was perfect, a small continental full of choice (I'm going to miss the 3 berries jam) The room was comfortable, clean, and the perfect size for our five night stay. The shower was AMAZING - I wish I could of stayed in there all day lol. I genuinely wish I could move in here! My whole experience in Inverness is one to remember, and I'm so fortunate that I got to stay at Doric House, and I really hope to stay here in the future 💙 Keep up the fabulous work, missing it already 🥺 K & D xx

Great house close to the town centre. Many thanks to Jamie and his wife. They were very hospitable and Jamie was very knowledgeable on the local area and gave us great locations to visit on our way up from Edinburgh and whilst we stayed at the house. The stay was the final leg of our European holiday and the best part.

A True Home Away from Home – Wonderful Stay at Doric House

Our stay at Doric House in Inverness was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, Jamie, our host, made us feel incredibly welcome. He was not only kind and attentive but also a wonderful source of local knowledge—happy to share tips, stories, and suggestions that made our visit even more memorable. Our room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable, and each morning we enjoyed a fresh, ample breakfast that set us up perfectly for the day. The neighborhood felt safe and peaceful, and we never hesitated to take a stroll, even after dark. One of the biggest perks was the location—just a short 5 to 10 minute walk to the city center, where we had easy access to shops, restaurants, tour pick-up points, and the train station. It made everything incredibly convenient. We originally chose Doric House based on glowing reviews, and I’m so happy to add my own to the list. It didn’t feel like staying at a B&B—it felt like visiting a favorite uncle’s home. If you’re headed to Inverness, this is the place to stay!

Jamie and Heather were amazing hosts. They gave great advice about things to do and directions in Inverness. The room was clean and comfortable and their house is very cozy. We truly felt like welcome guests.

The shower controls were a bit hard to figure out for a simple person such as myself.

Jamie was a wonderful host! He has extensive knowledge of the culture and history of the region and gave us fantastic ideas on day trips using public transport. The bed was comfortable and the clean sheets smelled wonderful!

Great location well managed

The room we had was large with an ensuite. The continental breakfast was very good with lots of options including pasties, yogurt, cereals etc. The host are great, very helpful and informative. The room was very clean taken care of daily. The location was very good. Central to pubs, restaurants etc and for getting in and out of Inverness.

I liked the property and managers a lot. An issue others might have is regarding on street parking. The managers have got permits and we found spaces were always available just not put the front but just be aware it is on street.

What a gem. The accommodation had it all - great comfortable room, brilliant quiet location, wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice and one of the best hosts we have met.
