The property is dated but the rooms are still beautiful, in old Japanese style. I had a room with tatami and mattresses on top. Everything needed was provided. There was a fantastic private onsen on the balcony which I used everyday. There’s no train connection, but that only makes the area much less touristy and more charming, hotel can still be reached by bus and ferry (both stop just next to it).
Property is a dated and the private shower is only an outdoor shower next to the onsen (showers are however also available inside in the public onsen). For me it worked fine but it may not be for everyone.

Great view, location and amazing private onsen!!
Would have been great to have towels provided for both onsen and bath/shower.

We loved the outdoor Onsen in our room. The staff were also very lovely.

The staff behaviour and cleanliness of the property
The inhouse bath was bit exposed to outside and it seems like a privacy break.
