Casa Sotgiu Guest House

The location was fantastic, with many of Rome’s sights within easy walking distance and the metro only about 5 minutes away. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet, despite being centrally located. We also really enjoyed the Italian-style breakfast and the friendly, communicative team.

The air conditioning wasn’t quite cold enough for us after walking around in 30°C heat — we like our room very cold! The bed sheets were quite thin and didn’t have the thicker, hotel-quality feel we prefer. The accommodation can also be a little difficult to find initially as it is within an apartment complex. But these cons are not a deal breaker just being honest.

Super clean and spacious! Bathroom was massive and lots of space in the room too. Good location to walk everywhere too! Breakfast was perfect to get started for the day and staff were lovely. Helped us organise taxi back to airport for way home.

Mattress was really hard and quite uncomfortable for me

The room and bathroom were very clean. The Metro Station is very close.

There were no staff onsite. We couldn't even get into the building! We called and called and did not get an answer. It mas my error that I gave them a late afternoon time, initially. But, there was no way to communicate with anyone, that we had arrived. It took us 45 minutes and walking up and down stairs with our luggage to finally locate the Casa Sotgiu office. The building is an office building, not a hotel. Again, there was no one onsite. Need more towels? Toilet clogged? Loud neighbors? There is NO ONE to help you until the next business day. Even your texts will not be returned until the next business day. Add to that, that you are in a very rundown part of the city and it is not a pleasant stay. There was tagging and trash everywhere. You had to walk about 5 to 6 blocks to get into a safer part of town. I'm a City girl. I love the city, but I am smart about staying out of bad neighborhoods, especially as a single woman. I would not walk in this area at night.
