A small bijoux style hotel were the owners do everything they can to make you feel welcome.

The owners were very helpful, spook good English and made us feel welcome. The bus and train station are a short walk away but the owners will drive you when requested. Buses stop at 19:30 hours and taxis are rare. Arriving back in Stresa after a train trip we had to take a taxi back, however, the owner said we should have rung and they would have sent someone out to collect us - Now that is service. The hotel consists of a main building and a second annexe both with views of the lake and the garden area. We had the top floor room, normally a family room, which you entered straight from the lift. It was split into three areas, the first had a single bed and a balcony with a large table for sitting around. The middle section had two single beds whilst the main bedroom area had a king-size bed and a balcony. The bathroom was large with big jacuzzi and shower. The breakfast met our requirements especially the four types of honey, one being a local honey comb. Though based on the continently style you could also have porridge, waffles, pancakes and various eggs served in the main house or terrace. Evening meals were pizzas, or various salads served in large locally made bowls and of course a sweet selection. Make sure you have the apple tart, a family recipe, with ice cream. There is a large selection of wines to go with your meal, and we had the recommend local red wine which was excellent. Access to the buildings are via stairs, these are not easy if you have any problems walking. However, if you stay in the main building you can gain access to the hotel through the private quarters, you will need to arrange that, and then ride down in the lift to reception, useful when carrying cases to and from the car. Th bottom level has secure parking with access to charger stations, which you need to reserve, and a gym area. There is a small raised pool which is suitable for children as a parent could reach over and easily lift a child out.

There was nothing we did not really like as we had wanted a small bijou style hotel which we could use as a base to see the area and that is exactly what we had. The hotel is a short drive from the main town of Stresa with its large hotels, restaurants and promenade walks and it would have been nice if it had been in walking distance, but we knew that before we booked. If you are careful and look around you should be able to find a space to park your car in one of the car parks, or in a white parking area for free. Just remember this is not the type of hotel were you relax by the pool and do nothing every day, though if you are a family there is plenty of shade and a large play area for children to run around when you need a rest. The hotel's Web site gives a very fair and honest picture of the hotel and what to expect.

Great place to stay

The hotel has all the needed facilities, and an elevator to the room! The owners, Simona and Alberto, where great in hospitality and the food in the restaurant was very good. The pool is small but the is sufficient for children. The view is gorgeous.

Gorgeous property on the lake

Wow wow wow. We adored this property. It’s enormous with gorgeous trees and plants everywhere. There is a small pool and terraces to linger on or soak in the sun. And they have a restaurant and bar on site with a beautiful terrace overlooking the lake. The rooms are colorful and stylish. The hosts are so kind and warm and welcoming. I’d come back in a heartbeat!

The hotel was very clean, the bed was huge and the hosts, Simona and Alberto could not have been more friendly or helpful. This was probably my favorite place to stay of any in my many years of traveling.

Everything was great. The hosts, Alberto and Simona, are gracious and helpful. They made us feel very welcome and addressed needs we had during the stay, including helping with difficult tour reservations nearby. We traveled with our family and needed three rooms. Each room was perfect for the ones in it. Th rooms are well apportioned and spacious. The view of Lake Maggiore is fabulous from the rooms. One of our group has young kids and there were a lot of activities right at the hotel, like a pool and ping-pong. In addition, the hosts really made the kids feel at home. One of the kids said that stay was his favorite part of the trip. The food was great and, surprisingly affordable. We had breakfast there twice, lunch twice, and dinner four times. The menu has a lot of variety so most of us didn't have the same thing twice, except the young ones, who loved the chicken strips (so did the adults that sampled them). The property is beautiful, with a wide variety of plants and trees. Travel to nearby sites is convenient.

We wished we could have stayed longer. Some commented they wanted to live there.

The hotel had an incredibly personal touch. The owners were absolutely lovely and made the stay. Willing to share details about the lake, restaurants, everything. Beautiful view from my room. Absolutely delicious breakfast (best omelettes!). Wonderful personal touches by both Simona and Alberto. They were very kind, accommodating and gave us personally tested recommendations for restaurants nearby. Definitely try their home made "Orange cello".

The best get away for a short time with amazing view!

The view out of the window is exceptional - like in a fairytale. The garden and the flowers are extremely beautiful and the scent around the garden is like a natural light perfume which lets you calm down after a hectic week. The breakfast was delicious!

We just returned from our five night stay at the Relais Casali della Cisterna and absolutely loved every aspect of our stay. The room was spacious, the views were gorgeous. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the 14 euro cost was more than reasonable. The rooms were cleaned and equipped with everything that we would have needed. Since it’s a family-run hotel, the hosts absolutely ensure that everything is done to the guests’ liking. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough!!

An amazing experience. You should go there!

Everything was absolutely great. The location is awesome, it offers stunning views to the Lake Maggiore and it is just a few minutes away by drive from Stresa and the beautiful islands (Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori) to visit. All the food they serve is very tasty. What an incredible experience to eat the breakfast with such a view. The rooms are clean and bedding very comfortable. Last but not least: the owners are amazing, they are very nice and they always do their best to make you happy. We highly recommend!

The couple who run it are very welcoming and were very helpful with recommending the best and easiest way to get to places as well as warning us of tolls we were going to encounter without our knowledge and helping us out with what needed to be done. The hotel has a wonderful warm atmosphere and the food was delicious. The gardens are beautifully kept and the rooms are very comfortable. I highly recommend staying there.
