Perfect countryside gateaway to visit Pisa, Lucca and Firenze, absolutely perfect!

I could not overstate how amazing our experience was at Locanda Sant'agata. From the communication before our stay, the beautiful rooms and house, the amazing breakfast. And most of all, the hosts were among the nicest people in hospitality I have ever met. I would 100% recommend this place

A beautiful stay with a small pity.

We arrived late, and had dinner in the hotel restaurant, it was surprisingly good, strong recommendation. The owners are very friendly and warm welcome.

They forgot to put the room rate into the total bill and we thought we made a guaranteed booking by our credit card. After check-out some days, the hotel sent us email for room payment.

It’s a beautiful property with mix of country and urban vibe, near low rise mountains. Outside large sitting area is very charming. Breakfast was great.

Hidden gem

Beautiful clean rooms and stunning setting. Just a short drive into Pisa. Lovely breakfast and really welcoming staff. Only stayed for one night as was part of a longer trip however, could have easily stayed here for a few nights. Highly recommend.

Pleasant surprise for a last minute reservation.

Cozy place with a feeling of being home or among family. Even if the reservation was last minute and the arrival late, we were able to check in without problems. Excellent breakfast in a courtyard.

Excellent hotel with the best staff.

We loved the area, very quiet and green. The best was the staff, Silvia, Nicola, Marco and the rest, so kind and helpful. We had some good conversations with all of them. We also loved playing with Jerry, the lovely dog of the hotel. Ah, almost forgot about the amazing dinner we had. If you can, try the restaurant!!

Nice and quiet. Helpful staff

Nice quiet location. Good air conditioning. Lovely setting. Helpful staff giving us information about parking and visiting the tower. There are loads of little restaurants around this area within about 15 minutes drive. We dont speak any Italian but we got by with friendly waiters.

We didn’t eat at the hotel as it was quite expensive. We did have breakfast which was nice but we thought it was buffet style but it wasn’t and we didn’t have a menu. The waitress just asked us what we wanted. We would have preferred to choose our own but that’s a personal thing and maybe we are ignorant of the Italian ways. The breakfast was nice though if expensive for what we actually had.

Overall an excellent stay and would visit again.

Very clean and comfortable room, the air conditioning worked well, it is well laid out to make use of the space, plenty of wardrobe space. The grounds are very well kept with a wonderfull huge old chestnut tree. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice and the scrambled eggs were superb. The hosts were helpful and friendly and the hotel dog was great and added to the relaxed atmosphere. We ate at the restaurant on one occasion and the meal was excellent. We had an early departure (before breakfast time) and the chef kindly left a bag of sandwiches, croissants , fruit and bottled water for us at reception.

Not the fault of the Hotel but the road from the nearby train station is busy and without a pavement, if you stay here car hire would be preferable as the local taxis are hit and miss, although we were able to book one to the airport at the end of our trip that arrived on time (we had an early flight). Saying that, the hotel is well equipped and has everything you need on site.

The hairdryer cut out when in use, and the flex was very dusty. The tap was too high from the sink and spread water everywhere which caused the unit to get damaged.

Very nice trip and absolutely recommendable. We had a great time

Staff was exceptionally friendly and we felt very welcome already when entering. Everyone put a lot of effort in to make us feel comfortable. Every morning we were asked what we'd like to have for breakfast and all meals were very fresh and delicious. Once we had also dinner, we were overwhelmed of the amazing dishes we received. We can hardly remember, when we ate that good the last time. Room was 100% clean and tidy.

Since we travelled in September, it was already a bit colder than expected. Unfortunately the rooms weren't heated, so we were a bit freezing. As we got to know later this trip, there was a goventmental regulation that forbid heating because of current gas shortage - so no blame on the host!

Lovely the eggs options were really nice and the fresh cakes where a nice touch

The only think missing from the venue was a pool as it was really warm and it would have been nice to take a dip. The menu at night was really expensive but the food was really nice but we seemed to be missing out on a few items as the plate looked empty.

Wonderful

It is a lovely old converted farmhouse set in large grounds. Family owned and the hosts could not be more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they are completely flexible with any eating arrangements. The restaurant is wonderful, top quality with locally produced ingredients. A wonderful place to stay just outside Pisa and with very easy access by car to all the main areas.

We had the most delicious creative lunch at the hotel, the staff were charming and very friendly. Its definitely more a restaurant than a hotel.

We arrived on a Tuesday just before lunch and checked in. We got back later and thought the hotel seemed quiet. When I went into the lobby to ask if we could order drinks before dinner, we were told that both the bar and restaurant were shut as it was the staff's day off. My issue is not with the super staff having a well deserved day off but the fact we were not told this when we booked nor when we checked in....we ended up having a picnic supper along with other guests. The kind lady on reception happily provided plates, glasses, ice and a corkscrew.

Great breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, they use a lot of fresh local products. Good cocktails, very well paired wine.

The family who owns is not always as accommodating as we liked. Their children are running around, there are toys on the checking in desk, the room we had is very clean, but outdated. Extremely loud airconditioning, small shower, not the best mattress (but the sheets and towels were very clean and soft) Which can all be totally okay, but than the prices should be in the line of a family hotel. An exception has to be made to the young women and sommelier working in the restaurant, they went beyond in helping.

Struttura adatta per brevi soggiorni. Rapporto qualità-prezzo non ottimale. Staff molto cortese.

La stanza, seppur piccola, è funzionale. Tenendo conto dello spazio, ha un armadio, uno sgabello per posare la valigia, una cassettiera e un tavolino. Televisore e frigo bar con a disposizione degli ospiti acqua naturale e frizzante. Riscaldamento funzionante, abbiamo trovato la camera calda. Essendo la struttura decentrata (noi avevamo un impegno a Pisa), è comodo il fatto che abbia un ristorante. Parcheggio esterno a disposizione degli ospiti.

Bagno piccolissimo, senza bidet ma con un doccino nella tazza non funzionante e che perdeva acqua. Doccia grande ma senza un piano di appoggio interno dove sistemare sapone, shampoo e bagnoschiuma. La struttura non offre prodotti da bagno classici, ma delle saponette (anche per capelli e corpo) prodotte localmente che non definirei molto funzionali. Avrei preferito una doccia più piccola ma il bidet. Spazi troppo angusti per essere comodi. Materasso comodo ma cuscini davvero scomodi per me che soffro di cervicale. La colazione non è a buffet ma servita: fette biscottate con marmellata, torte, salato (uova, formaggi salumi). Un po' cara (108 euro per una notte in due a metà febbraio).
