Dirty place

Location

Dirty, mattress was as flat as a pancake, noisy, no electric socket near the kettle, we had to put the kettle on the floor next to the wardrobe, very unsafe. The window latch was broken. Would not stay again!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Location was great

The beds were really uncomfortable, pictures of rooms are misleading. Unfortunately the building means you can hear every sound from floors above or on the same floor. We woke at 6am and couldn’t wait to check out and leave.

Nice but wont stay again

Everything on your door step, it was clean and comfortable,staff where friendly

The curtains are rubbish they need thicker curtains up that actually fit and close. Theres no staff on through the night which was a problem because the couple staying in the next room were arguing and shouting and smashing the furniture up it was going till 3am,the floorboards above need doing they were loud when people were walking about. We stayed Friday to the Monday and only Sunday was a good sleep.Its a shame as the owners are nice people.

The room was tiny, our bed was held up by extra wood and was still extremely wobbly , the wooden floors and furniture made the place so so noisy.

A little disappointed, but just needs a little bit of work to make it a nice place to stay

The hotel was in a very good location with a nice sea view if you pay a little bit more… shops close by and everything you need on the door step. The staff was very nice and friendly

The bed was very uncomfortable and did not really have a great night sleep. Also was a lot of stairs to get to the top for the sea view room. Need to invest with better mattress/duvet and pillows.

THIS HOTEL HOUSES ASYLUM SEEKERS! Myself and family never ended up stay here. No refund either. When we arrived we were told to enter through the back door. The lady looked at us weird and asked if we were sure we had booked a room there. When she finally gave us our room it was awful. Mould in the bathroom and by the beds, the bunk beds were creaky and wobbly, no plug socket for the kettle, no tv remote, the bed sheets were all creased and the door didn’t shut properly. There was an old extension lead but was not sure where or if it was plugged in and there was wires hangover g round the room. No refund given and booking.com were no help either.

Enjoyed Skegness but hotel BIG disappointment.

Close to seafront and amenities.

No staff no interaction no bar no meals needs drastic update, smelt foisty and damp carpets dirty , threadbare, door handle hanging off,room floor sticky, wallpaper falling off,had to buy air freshner and fabric freshner to mask stench,says quiet after 10pm but noisy until early hours, saw no staff for our 4 day duration,seemed to be the most run down and neglected on the block.

UNHYGIENIC- BEDBUGS- Safety risk MOULD

AVOID - BEDBUGS!!!! I booked this on behalf of my sister and fiancé as they were attending a local event nearby to join friends. Unfortunately the room reserved for them was a whole safety risk resorting in them having to leave on return from there evening event at 1am in the morning with nowhere to stay. The bedding had BEDBUGS and their feces on. Soiled bedding. Mould on the wall creating harmful spores and MORE. We have full photographic evidence of this. (I currently hold one of the images) There was no original high expectations other than a clean safe hygienic room to stay in, however my sister then had to find another hotel room and to also pay full cost. We are yet to receive full refunds and communication. Booking are aware yet they have ended communication!!!

We found the hotel poor on cleanliness.smell hits you as you walk to other rooms. Stained pillows. Every door was filthy. They advertised free parking but for 20 finishing 3 spaces. . I could not managed the stairs. Did not stay walked out and stayed else where

Short break in Skeggy

Comfortable attic room at the top and a great seaview with balcony. Although room was small, everything was very clean and extra pillows in drawers if needed. Good hot shower plus complimentary bodywash and shampoo. Bed was comfortable, plenty of drawers and hanging space.

It would be better if the floors were carpeted in the rooms to reduce noise and a shame no lift as it's quite a climb up to the third floor, but otherwise no real complaints.

All in all it was a pleasant stay, the Grand Hotel just need up the attention to detail

The staff were friendly, we were a bit early but they allowed us to wait in reception, our room smelt very fresh and clean, beds were somewhat comfy and the bedding were soft very clean also had a lovely smell to them. The shower, sink and toilet were also very clean i can not fault in that at all, the above was 10 out of 10

What let the hotel room down was that, near the shower was a big clump of dark hair attached to the skirting board (not ours as we are both fair haird) where the double plug was next to the wardrobe was amass of thick dust on the floor. The flooring was dirty as coming out the shower our feet would be black from the floor. Room above us was very loud and noisy.

I liked that the hotel was close to everything and the bed was comfortable.

The hotel wasn't very clean and was very dusty. It had an old smell to the room. The curtains weren't wide enough so there were gaps when we closed them.The bathroom wasn't clean and had a horrible smell coming from the plughole. The balcony was tiny and dirty ,the chair was also dirty. We couldn't sit out.. The windows were dirty in and outside. The photos that were shown on booking.com turned out to be old photos so this is misleading. I mentioned to a member off staff about the issues but they weren't concerned but agreed the balcony is far too small and dirty.

Very disappointing, dirty and basic .

Receptionist was very friendly. Bed linen and towels were clean .

Very dusty floor in the bedroom, furniture very tired , damaged and uncomfortable bucket chairs , balcony very dirty with bird mess. Dining room not very welcoming, no personal touches on the tables or walls , no side plates for your toast , very basic breakfast selection. The hotel is now dog friendly and unfortunately one dog had messed on the wall , door, skirting board, carpet and main hallway , staff was informed but only cleaned the hallway flooring at the time we were there. It’s not the fault of the staff it’s the irresponsible dog owner ! I would not recommend this hotel at all . Standards have definitely dropped since we were there a few years ago !!

I was traumatised, embarrassed and emotionally abused..I can NEVER recommend Grand hotel skegness e.

I was harassed and embarrassed, Ihad made my booking since 16th of June, only for the staff to tell me that my reservations were not on the system, i was very upset and raised my voice, then the staff called the police, i was told to leave the premises, the police escorted me off the premises, later, i called my pastor, he came down to the hotel to resolve the issue, i was later allowed to stay, i was emotionally drained, and traumatised, i have NEVER experienced such embarrassment in my entire life...the staff are unprofessional in all ramifications, i will appreciate if this issue is addressed, the staff didn't deem it fit to apologise for the misunderstanding, imagine the staff calling the police, just because i was trying to express myself. Matter of fact, i called the hotel about 30mins before my arrival, they confirmed my reservations and told me my room no( room 8) Secondly they allowed a guest to lodge with a aggressive dog. Then the bathroom was dirty, the shower was blocked with human hair that had blocked the drain, I personally cleaned the shower . I expected them to tender an apology... Am not criminal, they shouldn't have brought in the police, after all the embarrassment, they resolved the issue without contacting the police to let them know that the issue had been resolved

The staff unprofessional, the bathroom dirty, the room is not worth the price of the rooms...matter of fact, Grand hotel should be taken of booking. Com....I don't know how they got their licence, the kitchen was extremely dirty, the microwave was in bad condition, the kitchen isn't conducive for preparation of meals, the standard of the hotel doesn't meet the standard of health and safety procedures, the hospitality commission should send their officials to inspect the premises.

Fantastic hotel

This hotel deserves 100/100 the staff / managers were amazing I couldn't fault them , we needed help at times and they were only too happy to help I would genuinely highly recommend this hotel , the other plus side is it's so close to everything, our room had a balcony and with the current heat it was a blessing and very safe having breathing difficulties I was able to leave the balcony door open at night and felt very safe , I will definitely use this hotel again 😄

The free wifi didn't work in our room! The dining room looked barren; which gave us no inclination to book a breakfast. The window in our room was cracked and held together with tape. Coffee and Tea were not replaced after our first morning and the room was not cleaned or the towels changed. We had to ask for a fan for our bedroom as it was stifling hot in the late afternoon and all night; even with the fan!
